I had almost forgotten what it was like to get hit by a lightning attack. The shock ran through my body as every muscle began to spasm. The attack made me fall to the ground with the force behind the Thunderball. As the spasms began to wear off, I was able to pick myself up and take a knee. I looked around to find the ninja that released the attack. When I found her, I saw her fighting with Renki. I tried to reach into my tool bag on the back right of my waistline. The spasms were still making it hard to do certain movements until suddenly, all the spasms went away. I caught movement on my left shoulder and drew my attention. On my shoulder I saw a beetle. At first, I began to question why a beetle would land on me at a time like this and then I saw Bot still hiding in the tree line. I nodded at him in thanks and began to dig for the needles in my tool bag. While still in the knee, I took the needles, and with the vision of my Byakugan, threw them at the enemy's chakra points in her joints. After I threw them, I began to close the distance between us. Renki was holding his own against the Cloud ninja but two against one are better odds. Right before my needles hit, she spun around and blocked all but one that ended up going sideways into her elbow. Renki, seeing that the needles hit, used the opportunity to kick the sword out of the hand with the damaged arm. Still having another sword in her other hand, she swung aiming at my waist. Dodging the swing, I slid between her stance and hit the chakra point in her front knee before standing up behind her and spinning with a kick aimed at where her head should be thinking she would drop to a knee. I was surprised when my kick did nothing but whistle through the air.
Renki looked at me to signal that she jumped back into the tree.
"One of the abilities of the Lightning Fang is that it will always return to it's wielder!" she proclaimed looking down from the tree limb she took on just inside the tree line. She extended her arm to summon the Mist Blade back to her hand, but it did not move. I could see the frustration on her face and could tell she was talking but I had no idea what she was saying.
"You really think that the Leaf museum had the real blades? Either you are not as good as you think or someone lied to you," I could hear Renki say while laughing.
"Water formation: Chain!" he exclaimed as a link chain made of water came from the palm of his hand. The chain headed toward the enemy ninja at a furious speed and wrapped around her again and again securing the chain around her, the chain began to retract into his palm at an even faster speed than it went out. I could barely keep track on the ninja as Renki pulled her in. As the chain was almost done pulling her in Renki stepped forward into her path landed a punch that sent her flipped end over end into a tree on the other end of the clearing. When she impacted the tree, it shattered into a thousand pieces of shrapnel.
I jumped in front of Renki as the shrapnel came toward us. I took a stance that I have used hundreds of times before and said," Eight Trigrams Palm Rotation!" As I released a constant flow of chakra from both hands as I spun around at the speed needed to create a perfect bubble around me and reflected all the wooden shrapnel coming at us.
When I finally slowed down and was able to regain battlefield awareness, I saw Renki trying to lure the female ninja in the shadows. The longer I looked at this woman, the more I realized that she looked familiar. Then it finally came to me; she was the ninja I fought in the museum back in the village. I jumped out the shallow crater that I created from my last jutsu and made me way over to the fight.
"Kai, I fought her in the War Museum back in the village," I said running up beside her.
"Anything you can tell us?"
"She is a strong lightning user, and she is fast," I replied.
I should see that Renki had almost lured the enemy in range of Kai's jutsu when I saw Kai take a knee. As soon as she came in range, the shadows became tentacles that reached into sky and headed toward their unknowing victim. She paused under the cover of the tree line start weaving signs when the shadow tentacles found their mark. Stabbing through every joint and other vital points in her body. The shadow then went back into the ground pinning the Cloud rogue in place. Blood came her mouth as she coughed trying to clear her throat of the damage that had been done. I had never seen the Nara clan's Shadow Stitching Jutsu in person before and it was everything that I heard.
"Renki, end this!" she ordered trying to maintain the jutsu. Without a word in reply, the red eyed chunin held a hand sign that cast a genjutsu. I could not tell what was going on inside the stitched-up shinobi's mind but whatever it was, caused her to take her own life with her own kunai.
After the release of the jutsus and a check of the area, we regrouped back at our packs. I went over to my pack and found my half-eaten rice ball. I sat down and leaned against the tree nearest my pack and began eating.
"Bot, thank you for the beetles," I said when I saw him finally get back to the packs.
"Nabushi what are you doing? We just got attacked and we need to move!'
"I didn't get to finish my rice ball and my mom made this. There is no way I'm not finishing it," I said taking another bite. I saw Kai roll her eyes as she sat down and crack a little smile.
"I guess we will finish eating then start moving again," she said as I heard everyone else began to relax and eat as well.
