Chapter 13 – the Gift
The warrior's POV
That evening as I went into the Prince's room I kept thinking of the conversation I had with Princess Lin.
I was distracted and when he kissed me I was still thinking of the princess.
Noticing my distraction he grabbed my chin and looking into my eyes asked " what are you thinking of so deeply ? Did you fall in love with the Princess?"
I was startled ." No, of course not !"
He smirked .
I laughed weakly " I was just thinking of something ….."
He waited for me to finish my sentence with a very serious look on his face .He stood tall and arrogant like a greek God .His face and body was so beautiful that I was starstruck for a moment .
" You can continue after you finish admiring me …" he grinned cheekily .
" what ?!" I was dazed for a moment and then came back to earth .
" I wanted to ask you something .If somebody asks you for a gift , will you give it ?" I did not know how to phrase my question .
" That depends on the person .If I wanted to give a gift I will give …." He replied .
" Can you give a person as a gift to someone ?"
"Yes I can ." he stated with authority .
" Do you want a gift ?" he asked .
" No " I stated firmly .
"Then who wants the gift?"he asked .
I was going crazy . I realised that if he wanted he could really give me to anybody ,especially that Princess .What if I was given as a wedding gift ?!!
I glared at him.
"what happened dear?" he held me in his arms .
The moment his arms came around me I snuggled against his wide chest and hugged him .I forgot for a moment what I wanted to ask .
" Tomorrow when the Princess asks you to give me to her as a gift you have to absolutely refuse ." I pouted .
" what ?! The Princess wants you ?!1 Should I be jealous ?i saw that you were busy saving the Princess today . I also got information that you saved her from drowning ." he teased me .
" Rubbish ." I said and continued " I seem to be developing some kind of future reading ability .I really don't know how I could predict that she was going to fall both the times.Something is happening to me "
I whispered " Hold me tight .I am really scared of your customs here in this world .I promise you that if you ever marry anybody other than me I will go away forever and never come back"
' Don't say nonsense .This Prince wants only you in this lifetime and all lifetimes .Let me tell you something -I have had this dream about you so many times that I thought I was going crazy till you appeared in front of me . I just could not go near any woman and never ever felt that feeling till you came into my life .My mother had been pressurizing me so many times and they have threatened me so many times but I just did not care .I always dreamt of this woman who came from another world and and she would tell me -wait for me .and then I would promise her that I will wait for her forever.I tried to see her face but could never see it and then after you came into my life I saw the dream again and this time I saw her face . It was you dear . So tell me how could I ever accept anyone ? I will leave this kingdom . I don't want it . It is too much trouble anyway Everywhere there are enemies and they all are waiting to kill…"he kissed me on my forehead.
" I will protect you .I promise ." I kissed him back .
Suddenly I heard a whisper coming from outside .I went outside the door but could not see anything or anybody .
Where did the whisper come from?
Who was it ?
Where was the danger from ?
I indicated the two guards outside to go in and wait and then I walked silently concealing myself behind the bushes and plants as I proceeded ..
Suddenly I could hear the voices again .
I realised that the voices were coming from outside the walls of the palace.I leaned my ear against the wall
"Tomorrow the Prince will certainly die "
" He will be with the Princess and if they both die I don���t care ."
" The warriors are ready to kill .you just give the order."
Not on my watch – I thought to myself .
Nobody was touching my Prince.
I recognised that voice .It was the Prince's cousin brother.These royals only wanted the throne and for that they were really ready to kill their own relations.I was lucky I was not born in this era.
Wait a minute . I had to deal with this thing by myself in this era.I cursed them .
What was strange was that I could hear the voice from such a distance .Something abnormal was going on .I was getting super powers of some sort .I could not understand the how and why of all the things …but then I was in an unbelievable situation ….being here was unbelievable …
So I listened very carefully and after the voices had gone away I went back to the Prince who was lying down on the bed waiting for me .
He smiled on seeing me and then extended his hand out to me .I held on and when his fingers entangled with mine I suddenly realised I felt I was finally home and with my soulmate .
All those abstract concepts that I had just read in books and did not believe in ….suddenly made sense.
I was home …wherever he was ..that was my home .
I lay down beside him touched his face .
The moon peeped silently and hid her face shyly .
The moon felt happy …She always felt happy looking at lovers ...
