Once Old Toshio reported to him of his mother's appearance in Rosy Mansion, Kyoya could only feel dread in his mind. His steps were frantic as he ran upstairs. The beating of his heart only became more vigorous as he got nearer and nearer to the room.
"...Shouko."
When he opened the door, his eyes instantly fell on the back of his wife who was leaning over a table beside the windows.
"Kyoya?" Shouko turned her head back, she was surprised to see him so early at home. "You're back already? Welcome home."
Kyoya smiled wearily. His voice turned stiff as he replied, "...I'm home."
Sensing that something was off with the man, Shouko immediately left the task at hand and walked to him. His face had grown a shade paler, he just stood there at the door.
"What's wrong?" As Shouko looked at him worriedly, an inkling came to her mind. "Did you... hear about your mother coming here?"
