Yuuya didn't know what should he feel right now.
Earlier, he was riled by disappointment toward his father when those unpleasant memories surged up in his mind.
But, now, he was totally touched when he saw how fiercely Mommy defended him.
Yuuya lifted up a hand. He gently tugged on his Mommy's sleeve.
Shouko lowered her eyes from Mr. Kuraki to Yuuya. She asked softly, "Yuuya, what's wrong?"
Yuuya smiled albeit faintly, "Mommy, thank you."
Thank you for being with Yuuya.
Shouko smiled back. Her anger dispersed the moment she saw the little one's smile. She lightly brushed the boy's head with her palm. The softness of his hair eased her mood up.
Kyoya breathed in relief. Although he didn't say much, he had the same view as his wife. Even so, since Shouko had said it, he didn't want to worsen the situation by repeating the words. He cast a gaze at Mr. Kuraki.
"Mr. Kuraki."
