Kyoya froze. Never did he expect Shouko would accurately deduce what he wanted to say to her. His expression fell once he snapped out of his stupor.
"Do you... remember anything?" His voice was hoarsened by the difficulty of him breathing.
Shouko blinked her eyes, trying to hold herself from crying. Her husband's reaction was enough to verify her suspicion.
Even though she hoped the truth was not what she expected.
Shaking her head, Shouko tried to smile but it turned rueful. She rubbed the corner of her eyes, once again feeling the incoming sorrow.
It turned out, she had lost another child.
"When did it happen?"
When he saw how much she tried to stop herself from crying, there was something surging from the depths of his heart, overwhelming him from being able to speak.
Kyoya opened his mouth but no words came out of it. Pursing his lips tight, he helplessly let out a heavy breath.
