The husband and wife returned home. They didn't speak more, but, the silence between them was tranquil, unlike the atmosphere from last night. Kyoya continued holding Shouko's hands even after he resumed driving. Shouko relished the warmth he gave her.
They would go to the Kashino family graveyard tomorrow morning. Since Grandpa was willing to hold the fort for Kyoya, he didn't have to attend to the modified schedule made by Kuroda last week.
"Let's make the riceballs before dawn. What do you say?" Shouko made a suggestion. She planned to make riceballs with mayo fried chicken and omelet fillings since those were Little Riceball's favorite stuffings.
"Okay," Kyoya readily agreed, "I'll help you."
Shouko gave him a grateful smile.
Their precious son got such a nickname because of his love for riceballs. Shouko found it cute.
