Ever since she returned from the care home, Shouko was lost deep in her thoughts. She couldn't help but think back to the elderly couple who came for adoption purposes. When she thought of the couple, she inadvertently thought of the small figure of a certain boy in the sickbay.
Adoption, huh?
Shouko pursed her lips, refraining herself from sighing. After changing her clothes, Shouko stepped outside the wardrobe. The warm ray of sunlight showering the inside of the bedroom, glimmering its luster on every surface of the room.
Glancing at the clock hung on the wall, Shouko found that it was only a little over five o'clock. Seeing that the weather outside was fine, she took the opportunity to head out to the backyard.
"Young Madam, where are you going?"
Shouko met Old Toshio halfway through the hallway downstairs. The old butler politely inquired a question to her.
"I'm going to the backyard."
