Ender grappled with the helplessness overwhelming him. The shield surrounding both Aniyoh and himself was moving now, albeit slowly. They had stood in frustration for several minutes, Ender beating against the invisible wall while Aniyoh simply sat on the ground, refusing to move. He had thought their position a stalemate until a saccharine smile moved across Greir's lips.
He thought maybe the grey-clad witch was grinning too, but the hood obscured her features so much that it was nearly impossible to tell. But Ender could feel her smiling somehow underneath the cowl.
The edge of the shield began to push at Aniyoh first, who was behind him slightly. A yelp of surprise rushed from her lips before her body began dragging along the forest floor. It did not take them long to figure out what was happening. Greir and the witch had started riding back toward the fort, and the wall of magic was following her.
