Chapter 89 - Afterword

Hello everyone. My name is Saturnalia Blackrose. Thank you for reading Volume Four of Date Her Instead.

As usual, I'd like to start with apologies. If there are any grammar mistakes or inconsistencies, I apologize. I try to catch them all, but naturally, a few do get by me.

Next, I'd like to talk about the volume's content, so if for some reason you're reading the afterword before the book itself, here's your warning for SPOILERS!

…Alright, here we go.

So A LOT happened in this volume. Really, this had been the volume I had been looking forward to writing the most for this series. I had imagined so many of the scenes for it in my head, and it was great to put them to the page. In particular, it was great to finally have some moments between Haruna and Kanako where they both just flounder about because they both have feelings for each other but aren't dating yet (especially the bath scene).

Honestly, I'm uncertain if I want to address this, so I'll keep this brief and as minimal as possible. Many of you undoubtedly have very… strong opinions on the Christmas scene. However, I want you all to know that this was always how I planned the series. We're not going to veer off into tragedy territory, nor am I trying to torture you readers. All I ask is that you continue to be patient with Haruna and Kanako as they continue on their journey.

As for the rest of the content, I'd like to point out that all of the locations in the school trip in Sapporo are real places (except for the restaurant at the very end). So, if you're ever in Sapporo, you should go check them out!

Lastly, I'd like to give my thanks.

Thank you to the people that support my writing endeavors (you know who you are).

Thank you to Baprima-07, who gave me my most-favorite cover yet!

And of course, thank you to you, the readers. This wouldn't be possible without your support, so once again, thank you very much for reading my series.

Volume Five with be starting shortly.

Until then,

Saturnalia Blackrose
