Up in the sky two chariots were standing side by side among the clouds. One of the chariot was the chariot of Prince Shantanu and the other was of one of his commander, Urjavat. Both the man were sitting in their respective chariot but both of them were looking at the same person down on the ground.
"Your Highness, that man has some guts, directly attacking the vice commander, the one leading our army. Haha…"
The commander said with a chuckle.
"Huh?! He doesn't even a weapon. What is he thinking coming at the enemy without even holding a weapon!" The commander looked closely and found that the man was talking to the vice commander Medhavat.
Sometimes passed but nothing happened.
Suddenly the man causally approached inside the chariot and stood along with the vice commander.
"Huh?!"A surprised scream escape out as the commander Urjavat stood up in surprise.
"Your Highness, what is vice commander Medhavat thinking?
You think that man has used some art and spellbind the vice commander?"
The commander asked with worry written face.
"...…."
The whole time even the Prince was watching the man. At first he thought that man was some kind of muscle brain fool from the Prayag Kingdom who had thought of challenging the vice commander and get some fame.
But after seeing his unhurriedness and calmness, the prince was forced to think otherwise. Then the second thought was just like the commander Urjavat, that he's someone expert in spell binding arts and was there to use his art to spell bind the vice commander. Prince Shantanu got extremely worried on this thought, vice commander was not just an expert tactic adviser to him but he was also a friend to him whom he had known for years.
But while he was worried and thinking of rushing in the battlefield himself, he suddenly noticed some facial changes on the vice-commander's face, he was angry and was speaking something to the man standing before his chariot.
Prince Shantanu took a sigh of relief, the vice commander was not spell bind. The most obvious way to find out if someone is spell bind or not was to notice his eyes and his way of acting. The eyes usually become dizzy and the spell bind man himself seems like he's lost somewhere in thoughts. These both conditions were not present in the vice commander.
Just when he was guessing about the identity and the motive of the man, he saw him entering in the chariot and then the vice commander's chariot moving in a specific direction.
Seeing the direction the chariot was moving, suddenly a thought struck in his mind and a cold smile appeared on his face. The direction in which the chariot headed towards was standing a man before a pile of corpses of soldiers.
The prince recognized that man, he was the first grand noble of the Prayag Kingdom. Suddenly the grand noble moved back in his chariot and wore the armor he had thrown in his chariot.
But just as he ordered his chauffeur to move from that place two arrows came flying and one pierced the head of the chauffeur as the other on the hinge of the left wheel of the chariot.
"Ahhhhhh…."
The chauffeur shouted in pain as the chariot got unbalanced and tilted on the left, unable to move.
After balancing himself the grand noble stepped out of the chariot and stared in front, searching the culprits who dared to kill his chauffeur.
Far in front of him, a chariot was coming in his direction and two sharp pair of eyes looking at him like a prey. Both of the men were carrying bow in their hands and slight smile on their faces.
"Your Highness, this….?!"
With all the events unfolding on the ground, commander Urjavat was dumbfounded, the person whom he was thinking as an adversary seemed to be an ally. But when they were making the battle plan there was no mention of such an ally.
"He must be the man who delivered that letter outside the camp."
The prince replied while still maintaining his calm face. Inwardly he was almost laughing at the fate the first grand noble was going to have.
The vice commander's chariot stopped a little away in front of the grand noble's chariot.
Grand noble was staring at both of the man in chariot with eyes filled with strong killing intent that even prince Shantanu felt above in the sky.
Both sides started talking for few moments when Aryamya put the bow back in chariot and the vice commander gave him his sword which was hanging on his waist.
After getting the sword Aryamya walked toward grand noble and stood right in front of him.
First noble himself took out the sword and held high in his hand.
"What are they doing? Vice commander Medhavat should just put an arrow in that grand noble. After that all he need to kill Prayag King and end this battle. Why he need to agree with that man's request for the sword fight between himself and grand noble?"
Commander Urjavat was getting impatient, the more he was seeing the battle going in totally different direction than they had previously prepared in the camp the more he was becoming frustrated and worried about his man.
He keep on getting felling that vice commander has made his own plan as he was moving with his own plan.
"Aryamya is a wise man and a true patriot to his kingdom. It is just a pity that he has a friend whom he have to save cause of his brotherhood with him. If not for that friend he himself would be standing against us with his sword."
The Prince thoughtfully said. He had a ture respect for that man standing below on the ground with a sword against grand noble.
"Take us a little bit more closer to them." The prince ordered and his chauffeur followed and behind Prince Shantanu's chariot, Urjavat chariot also followed.
"Aryamya?! Friend?! Your Highness, please forgive my ignorance but …."
When their chariot came a little bit more closer to the three men standing on ground. The confused commander asked not knowing what the prince was talking about.
"That man is called Aryamya, one of the advisor of the Prayag King and his friend." The prince replied.
"H… he is Aryamya !!" A deep shock ran on his body. What did this means, the advisor of the Prayag King himself had turned out to be their ally!
" Your Highness, the friend…. You mean…. The Prayag King?! Aramya is helping the Prayag King?" In midst of battle chaos, wth mind full of questions the commander asked.
Clang…..
But before the prince could reply, sword clash was heard and down before the eyes if the Prince Shantanu, both Aryamya and First Grand Noble attacked each other.
The first grand noble glaring at advisor Aryamya while saying, "Aryamya, today you're going to die here by my hands. Soon my sword will bring you down. Both you that betrayer king will pay the price for all my soldiers he made cannon fodder for the Kashyapa army blade cause of his selfishness."
After saying that he once again raised his sword and swung it towards the Aryamya.
Swish…
Aryama was keeping an eye on the every movement of the grand noble, he immediately crouched and dodged the upcoming sword.
"It seems you missed. Heh…
Betrayer? Who is the betrayer, the king? Sahat, don't try that glibness of speech and your verbal cunning to unnerve me and hide your own selfish desires you have against the king."
So saying he himself raised the sword in his hand and struck towards the grand noble.
Clank…..
His sword strike was stopped by another sword, both of them rebounded.
This happened for quite a while. But every time one attacked and was rebounded or dodged by the other's. This was simply frustrating both of them as they stood in standoff.
"Vice commander Medhavat, can you hand me over your spear for some time?"
To break that standoff, Aryamya immediately called vice commander to give him his long spear.
"....."
No one replied him. Aryama's request was met by silence. An enormous ominous feeling arose in his heart. He turned his head to look back.
The vice commander was nowhere to be found behind him.
"Haha… so this is the response of yours for mocking you a while ago. What a short sighted man!"
Understanding something, Aryamya moved one of his hand down behind his neck and pulled out a short sharp blade, that was hidden under his robe for no one to see.
With one hand holding a sword and with other holding a short blade, the Prayag King adviser swooped, brandishing both his blades towards the grand noble.
Grand noble was standing still there and studying every move and point of his opponent in front of him.
Even he didn't notice where or when the vice commander Medhavat left. Instead after that he noticed something in Aryama's eyes. Those calm eyes suddenly had rashness in them.
The grand noble immediately jumped backward for the spear lying just in side of the tilted chariot.
He hurled that spear aiming towards the broad chest of the approaching enemy.
Aramya took a glance at the upcoming spear and moved the short blade in his right hand to hit and change the track of rapidly approaching spear.
As Aryamya drove that spear away from his chest with his short blade. He noticed another blade going clean through his tender neck.
With eyes wide open, he tried to dodge and jump backward but it was too late the blade had made its way from one side to the other side of his neck.
Crimson fluid gushed out of his neck as advisor Aryamya fall backward on the ground.
The lips curved on the grand noble's face as he stared at the fallen advisor on the ground with a mocking smile showing his triumph.
"I'll let dogs and those wild birds in sky tear apart your flesh and offer your blood and head as my first offering to those the Gods of heaven for giving me the throne of Prayag Kin...…Ahhhhh…..."
Before he could even finish what he was saying, his mouth filled with metallic taste as he threw mouthful of crimson fluid.
He felt a piercing pain on his chest.
