Chereads / The Villainess turns into the Heroine / Chapter 6 - Roses are red, violets are blue, I'm screwed and so are you

Chapter 6 - Roses are red, violets are blue, I'm screwed and so are you

As I pushed open the creaky old door, the smell of burnt incense filled my nose. A small bell rung as the door closed on my brothers.

"Iona, what the hell was that for?"

I glared at Tulio.

"Shut up and let me focus."

Tulio backed away in shock as I walked ahead of them. I do not have time to play with my toys right now. If I can actually meet a reputable fortune teller than I might be able to understand if my planning will work well.

"Come here my child. Don't be shy and so uptight. Relax you are in the hands of a good woman."

I turned to see a beautiful woman sit in front of a glass ball in a darkened corner of the small shed like building. Necklaces, charms, and the sort hung on the wall behind her. My eyes wrinkled as I frowned. Two things bothered me about this woman. The way that she had caught my attention made it seem like she was waiting for me to come to her. As well as the fact that she had called herself a good woman. As a villainess myself it is code for, "Trust me so that I can make use of you". I smirked as the woman's smile dropped. Let me humor and tease this bitch a little. I chuckled through my teeth. I can't believe that I have found a new toy so fast.

I walked over to the table and sat on the barrel facing her. I then dropped my cloak in order to comfortable sit. The woman's misty gray eyes clouded as she looked at my smirking face. Her black hair fell in curls on her shoulders. She wore a light and revealing silk dress. She noticed me staring and blushed. I smirked as I said.

"Do all fortune tellers provide a body service along with the fortune?"

The woman's right eye twitched before she exhaled in irritation.

"Miss I will now read out your fortune. May I have your name and a short summary of your issues?"

I chuckled. This woman wasn't a fortune teller. She was some consultant on issues instead. I looked at her.

"Do I have to pay you for a fortune?"

The woman smiled as her light eyes glinted.

"It seems like you are quite the intelligent child."

"Don't call me a child. I can tell that you are only fifteen. Am I wrong? Your strategy of hiding your age with makeup is quite weak."

The girl in front of me clenched her fists in irritation before she started to touch the glass ball. I smirked as I touched my mouth.

Oh?

Is she just going to ignore me? I sighed. This was quite boring. My dolls were more entertaining with their reactions. My eyes slid over to see them watching the girl with suspicion. I smiled. They don't buy her bullshit as well. Whatever. The fact that something pulled me here must have some significance.

"I have come into your tavern in order to inquire about my future marriage."

The girl in front of me chuckled before she said.

"Give me one second Miss Iona."

A shiver ran down my back. How did this seer know my name? Was it truly destined for me to be here? Wait. Calm down. Everyone in Devashire knows about the marriage. I am getting married to their infamous renowned Tyrant King after all.

A couple of minutes later the fortune girl's face darkened as she looked at me.

"Spit out girl. I don't have much time here."

The fortune teller breathed in and out slowly before saying.

"If you marry the King, you will be met with extreme misfortune and your end."

Huh?

I will die if I marry the Tyrant King?

Oh, hell no, there must be some sort of problem. As I sat on the barrel a feeling of trepidation filled me. Actually, the fortune isn't that impossible. The fact that I was reincarnated despite being a villainess means that God truly does want me to pay for my sins.

Ugh.

How troublesome.

Lord almighty, this is going to ruin all of my plans for revenge. How am I supposed to become the Queen of Devashire and avenge my mom? I covered my face with my hands as anxiety filled me.

What am I going to do now?

I don't want to die just yet. For the time being my focus must be on how to escape meeting the King in the first place tomorrow. I looked at the fortune girl who was somber compared to when I first saw her. I sighed and patted the top of her head. She blushed as I dropped a couple of gold coins on her table.

"Take care of yourself girl. I have paid you because you have given me valuable information."

The fortune teller then said.

"Thank you Miss Iona. I hope that you make the right decision."

I chuckled as my brothers followed me leave the building. As I stepped out into the crowded city center a sense of exhaustion filled me.

The most thing I hate is when things in my plans don't go the way that they should. As I sighed a lightbulb lit in my brain.

My smile slowly stretched as excitement filled me. What am I so scared about? If I stay with the King then I will die. But if I only use him in the beginning to enact my revenge and escape before getting attached then I will be able to survive. I smirked. Change of plans. I'm not going to be the Tyrant King's lover.

But his ex-lover!

How exciting. I skipped towards the boutique to buy my dress as my brothers looked at me in confusion. I don't blame them. I had just gone through ten different expressions in the last five minutes. Any normal person would be shocked.

Oh, being a tyrant king's ex-lover fits a villainess such as myself better than that of the role of his wife. I smiled. Oh Peregrine, you better be prepared. Your wife is quite the bitch.

Will you entertain me during our short period of time together?
