The conversation between the goddess and Madrigal is noticed by everyone but only heard fully by David. The questions that Madrigal asks he understands and also understood their implication. He murmurs the name he hears of this individual who has taken up the task of being in the range of fire. He comes to a realization. A couple years back, that name resounded throughout the underworld. It was the name of the brother from a pair of twins. He has single highhandedly rearranged various enterprises specially the global routes of trafficking industries. From then on his fame was widespread even through his retirement. After his retirement, his sister took over and he was talked of no more. Only the name Xibalba remained. The name of fear. David falls into thought. He looks at his sister who is currently sleeping from exhaustion. He motions for his men to secure some resources. As for everything else he did not care even if that man is here. What he is very worried about is the feasibility of keeping these items and his teams' mobility. Realizing the possibility he curses. When the goddess asks for a volunteer, he pauses his thoughts thinking about volunteering when that same individual beats him to it.
On the other hand, the others in other chambers were unable to hear Madrigal's voice, but were able to hear what the goddess said. In particular, Katsumi had paid particular attention to the goddess's behavior. As for who she was speaking to, he could only guess it was another survivor. He guessed that either the survivor was in his chamber or there was at least one other chamber. He hoped that it was the first guess. As for why Katsumi thought this way, it was the nature of the goddess. Everyone thought that the chamber she faced was theirs. He had not paid much attention to the food that appeared but when it was replaced, he was stunned. He began to think about why would the food be replaced and the feasibility of carrying it if the training was not here or perhaps that individual had asked not for others but for themselves... It dawned on him as he thought back to the conversation and the individual's actions he had glimpsed from the goddess's response that the individual might be from the same business and world as him. If so, his team would not only be battling whatever the goddess was throwing at him but also each other. He doubted negotiations between people of their nature would end up without spilling blood especially when there was no guarantee in this kind of world. When the goddess asks for a volunteer, all he could do is calculate the benefits in doing so. In the end, he is unwilling to test the waters first when the goddess talks about someone's injury. He smiles at this. For this would be a guarantee.
On the other hand, in all of this tension, Ian sighs in relief at the graciousness of this goddess. He had hurriedly tried to eat something from the tables of food before they disappeared. Unfortunately, he was to late. When the water bags appeared, he grabbed one and helped his brother drink some water as he groggily woke up. He did not want to frighten his brother, but at the same time did not know how to explain their circumstances. His little brother blinked his eyes open and asks, "Brother?" sitting up, he continues, "where are we?" with a bit of shaking detectable in his voice. Ian opens his mouth only to be unable to answer. He grits his teeth and says, "we are in a game." His brother at only five years old looks around with awe and asks, "is it one of those virtual reality games?" Ian stiffly nods his head. His little brother, then, asks, "I don't remember a helmet or anything." He looks at Ian confused. Ian dry swallows and forces himself to lie, "you fell asleep so I place you in a cabin. you were a lucky winner from the concert" His brother looks at him wide eyed, his eyes shining. He exclaims, "really?!that's so cool! big brother, thank you!"
Ian laughs awkwardly. The crazy girl not far away from them looks at Ian strangely. The little brother tugs on his shirt, "what will we do next?!"
Ian explains what the goddess has said, "we will be training for a period of time. the npc has given us some starting equipment and props for the training. The first is training at that stage" he says as he points to the stadium where a figure clad in burgundy steps onto. Her ponytail trailing behind. She holds a spear in her dominant hand. She looks up to the goddess and nods for the goddess to assign the task.
Ian's little brother looks at him brother and asks, "brother, why is that big brother's arm injure?!"
Ian unable to own up to the truth says, "he must be a new player to video games and didn't know how to pick up a weapon. The injuries sustained in this vr game must take time to make it more real."
His little brother nods as if understanding. The crazy girl behind them shakes her head as if looking at an idiot. Soon many people beside them began to talk and exclaim about the young man in burgundy.
"Is he crazy!"
"poor lad"
"he must be as crazy as the bastard who changed the food!"
"maybe he is the same!"
Soon their excitement shift as a piece of news travels from somewhere, "hey, did you hear about the name thing?"
"what name thing?"
"they said to pick a name of your choosing and not give your real name."
"Oh man! I already said my name!"
"hey, what did you mean by not give our real names?"
"Apparently, they are saying that the name we choose out loud can give us power"
"are you crazy?!"
"dude, things can't get crazier than what we have already seen!"
"tell me, can your imagination make up such a babe"
"forget that, can we dream of the same babe"
Hearing this, Ian places his hands over his brother's ears. His little brother struggles. Just as his brother is about to say something, people around them scream.
"wtf!"
"what the heck is that!"
"Oh my god!"
Ian, the crazy girl, and his little brother follow where many have turned to and see a giant beast. From afar it looks like a regular sized dog, but seeing the young man clad in burgundy not far from it, it is obvious the size of that creature.
