Chereads / Rebirth: Perfect Era / Chapter 2 - Alternative Candidate

Chapter 2 - Alternative Candidate

Li Mu already had a previous high school experience. Relying on that, he knows that teachers in the 21st century had strong hegemony and power when facing students. The current media was not well developed and the public has insufficient supervision over the teachers. Physical punishment was very common from elementary school to high school.

The test room where Li Mu was at is in the city's fifth high school, of which was the worst high school in the city. The students here are the worst academically, and the teachers here are the worst here reputably. Li Mu couldn't have be more clear on what the teacher colleges were like. As long as the applicant at the local college entrance examination had a passing score, the teacher's college would open their doors, and even so, there was a lack of students enrolling there.

Li Mu was not surprised that a teacher at this school would say something like that, but after he was reborn, his psychological and physical age was already that in his thirties. As so, how could he be unnerved from something like that?

He raised his chin, combed aside the bangs that were covering his eyes, revealing a handsome but somewhat disastrous face. He pointed to the injury on his left forehead, and said in a mixed tone, "I told you, I was just hit by a car on the way to the exam. Now I feel really dizzy. Within ten seconds, if you don't let me in, I might die. As long as I die here, your three-year salary isn't going to be able to save you!"

As soon as he said that, not only were the three proctors surprised, but the students in the examination room looked at Li Mu as if they were looking at an alien.

On one hand, the media and internet was quite underdeveloped, but everyone understood the concept of touching porcelain. On the other hand, who the **** had seen when a student would talk to a teacher like that? Too great, too brutal!

However, the more unconventional a move is, the more unexpected effects that come with it.

If Li Mu took the normal route, crying or begging, it's expected that the proctors wouldn't care, but as soon as you say, "If you will not let Lao Tzu enter, then Lao Tzu will slap your face," they are almost immediately persuaded.

After all, Li Mu's forehead was hurt. He had blood both on his face and on his shirt. He said he was hit by a car and no one doubted that. If the proctor hadn't asked for trouble, after Li Mu was outside, he could have died on the floor and that wouldn't affect the proctor. However, now that Li Mu was inside of the classroom and collapsed, the male proctor washing himself in the Yellow River would not be able to rid himself of his sin.

There were dozens of eyes staring at the proctor enjoying the situation. He didn't want Li Mu to come and sit, but if he collapsed, then it was going to be his responsibility.

After the small confrontation, the male proctor hurriedly waved his hands. His face didn't look good, and his tone was completely defeated.

"Xing Xing Xing, come in and sit down!"

The exam hall burst into laughter.

I'm not your student, but if I laugh and everyone else does, you can't punish everyone!

The male proctor's face became even uglier. After getting inspected by the female proctor, Li Mu walked into the examination room under the worshiping gazes of those in the room. He went to the only space left that was vacant, and sat down after the serial code on the table matched his.

"Hey buddy, you're awesome!'

The fat man sitting behind Li Mu poked him with a pen, admiring him.

The fat man's voice was not small, and the voice traveled to the male proctor, who became even more embarrassed. The male proctor immediately became angry, pointed at the fat man and threatened, "Don't talk to each other during the exam, otherwise I'll report you for cheating!"

"****!"

However, with Li Mu's example from before, the fat man was eager to try as well.

Not slow on the uptake, the fat man immediately refuted, "Did you get your eyes tested? You haven't even passed out the test papers, and you want to report me for cheating? That's called spilling blood, watch out or I'll complain to the Commissar on you!"

"You…"

The male teacher almost spit out a liter of dog blood. Damn, today I was threatened and ridiculed by two students in public.

However, he was speechless because he hadn't passed out the test papers but accused the fat man of cheating.

The caliber of the female teacher was higher than the others as she tried to resolve the situation by saying, "Enough, Xiao Wang, hurry up and pass out the test papers, we're already a minute late."

The male teacher nodded resignedly, and began to sort the papers with the other teachers.

At this moment, Li Mu, who was drenched in water, began to receive paper towels from all directions in the examination room, and some of the paper handed to him was torn directly from the exam paper and rolled into a ball, which had the hand prints of a boy all over it. There were also small packs of facial tissue that were handed to him. In 2001, these packs sold for 50 cents, of which you could use to buy a whole roll of toilet paper. Only girls would be willing to buy that.

Li Mu was able to wash off all of the water on his face and on his arms, but as for the water on his body, he couldn't dry it off with the paper towel, so he let it be.

As he waited for the test paper to be passed to him, he looked at the photo on his admission ticket. The person on the photo had a scraggly caterpillar over his mouth, which was exactly what Li Mu looked like when he was younger.

He stretched out his arm and ran his hand over the craggy desk. It was smooth to the touch, but there was some carved art on the desk left behind by others. There were faint lines, but they were all inverted to him.

He looked down and saw that the desk had been faced away so that the compartment in the desk was not accessible. This was an iron rule to prevent cheating in exams during his school days.

Li Mu's heart was suddenly filled with emotion as he realized that he really was sitting in the examination room for the college entrance exams. The shabby double desks, the narrow benches, and the feeling of exhaustion when sitting on the seat all felt so familiar to him even after experiencing it once again a decade later.

In his last life, Li Mu, a science seedling, was very good at mathematics and at both physical and chemical biology. Influenced by his literature-loving dad, Li Mu's language scores had always been relatively high, but his English was a bit lacking.

Under normal circumstances, he could usually score over 100 marks out of 150 on the English portion of the exam, and even with partial credit on some English problems, he could score over 580 marks on each mock test. But because of the disastrous events that happened in his last life, he only got forty nine marks out of 150 in English.

If he had gotten ten to fifteen more points, his application to a better college would not be denied. If he had gotten over 120 marks in English, he would have been able to go to a prestigious university.

After finishing college in his last life, he began programming and coding and only then did he realize how important English was. Most computer languages were written in English. In the early 21st century, foreign software was commonplace in China.

Since then, Li Mu began to make up for his bad English. Not only did he pass the Level 6 English test in college, but he never stopped learning English even after graduation.

Li Mu, since the fifteen years since he took his college entrance exam, had forgotten most of the knowledge needed for it. The Chinese texts, poems, classical Chinese, the tedious math formula, and the detailed science content had all been forgotten with the passage of time. If you let him start the test again after his rebirth, he would be lucky to get a total score of 150 marks.

Fortunately, God took care of him in this life. Although the time he was reborn was a bit tragic, it was still good in the end. English was the final course of the college entrance exam.

He mentally calculated, and after subtracting 49 marks in English from the total score, he would end up with 586 marks.

Now that he had 486 marks, if he could pass the English test, he can choose a university of his liking to attend.

At this moment, the English test was passed out, and the female proctor reminded everyone the English listening portion of the test would start in three minutes.

Li Mu put away his jumbled thoughts and quickly browsed through the test in front of him.

He didn't remember what was on the test before his rebirth, but when he looked through the test, he was relieved.

He didn't dare to jinx himself, but he knew around 90% of what was on the test.
