Hours later, Rex calls his family doctor to enquire a few things from him.

Rex: Hello Doc. It's been a while we spoke. I'm sure you have been busy at work with the COVID-19 pandemic. Hope you and your family are coping well.
Dr. : Yeah Rex, its actually been a while. you are even lucky you got me on phone this morning. This is the only period I make calls, trying to hear from my children in Cuba. This virus is really not a joke. its real and a lot of people out there still doubt if its really in existence! please you and your loved should really observe all the precautionary measures! This has no cure for now.
Rex: Oh really, I'm a really lucky man tho. Sure! we are really observing the precautionary measures. We pray this ends soon, a lot of people are dying! May God help us. Anyway let me not waste your time, let me go straight to the point.

Dr: Oh, I think two weeks ago she sent me a text that she was feeling feverish and nausea. So I recommended a drug for her to try and get back to me, so she later texted me that the feeling is getting severe over days so I wanted to get a free day so I can visit you guys at home to check up on her. But it won't be anything serious than pregnancy if I may guess. Just take time to ask her. You know how they behave in times like this, and you should know your wife better. Rex: OK Doc, Hahahaha Ivy is doing just fine. What can we do, she will out grow her stubbornness one day. Thanks so much Dr. I'll do exactly so. But please kindly find time within the week and come check up on us. Pls come with temperature to test us OK. We stepped out days ago. We were careful anyway.
Dr. : You stepped out!! Pls Rex kindly stay home with your family, the pandemic is no joke . It's more serious than what you see and hear on social media. Laura: Louis, I'm seriously fed up with this your apology stuff. I am fed up please! How can you continue telling me lies and claim you are apologising! I've been quiet as though I've not heard you speaking to your cheat partner. Upon all the mess you caused the family with that slot, you still have the guts to speak to her. Louis: Hmmm, Laura you won't understand. It's just because I'm confused and don't know how to go about this whole thing.
Laura: I won't understand what? What are you even saying? Louis, I'm highly disappointed in you. Highly highly disappointed in you! Shit!!!! I never expected this from you. Rex: Hello Dad!
Mr. Alfred: Rex, How are you my Son? Hope you are fine. Shortly I want you to do something for me. It's very urgent Pls.
Rex: I'm Fine Dad! Okay I'm all ears.
Mr Alfred: Pls try your best to get me the full name of the young man's mother (Louis). I seriously need it please.
Rex: But Dad.....
Mr. Alfred: (cuts in) My son, u won't understand. Just do this for me pls.
Rex: Okay dad, I'll try.

Rex on phone with Laura..
Rex: Laura, how are you doing? Hope you are doing well by now?
Laura: I'm managing Rex, but for this lock down I'd have gone to my sister for a while to clear my head. I get hurt anytime I set my eyes on Louis. I need to be alone for now.
Rex: Just take heart dear. You can't keep hurting yourself this much. Just keep calm, it shall soon pass away okay!
Laura: Hmmmm, let me watch and see! what about Nina? What's going on?
Rex: Talking about Nina, the whole thing is looking here as though I was rather caught by her. Cos any word I utter she uses it against me. We haven't had the platform to discuss what happened. Her dad called to calm me down. But he called me moments ago and requested for something, that's what made me call you even. He said he needs the full name of Louis's mother. I tried asking why but he wouldn't allow me speak. Can you pls help with that?
Laura: Seriously Rex, I don't want this to reach his family, my family will then hear this and this whole issue will just light up again. What for God's sake will he need the name for? Seriously, I don't want this to go beyond us.
Rex: I seriously don't know dear.
Rex's background' ( Rex! Rex!! Rex!!!)
Laura: Is that not your wife screaming?
Rex: Yes, let me check what's wrong.
Rex rushed to check on Nina only to find her restless in bed and has embraced her tommy with both hands.
Rex: Nina, what's wrong with you, why are you holding your Tommy so tight. What's the matter? Are you having stomach upset?
Nina: Groans in pain....Rex, I can't stand it, my tommy hurts so bad. I am dying! It hurts so bad!
Rex: What did you eat last night and this morning?
(Nina was silent)
Rex called an ambulance and rushed Nina to the hospital.
After test results were out, she was confirmed pregnant and the cause of the pain was because she took too much coffee the past night and took chilled water earlier that morning. She was then advised to desist from that else she can cause a miscarriage since the pregnancy is young.
They were later discharged and they went home.
That evening Rex got the full name of Louis's mother from Laura and sent it to Mr. Alfred.
Later Rex texted Laura on WhatsApp to thank her.
Nina then confronted Louis to talk about the pregnancy.
Nina: Rex, I don't know how to start it but I think we should try our best to settle whatever is between us and face the unborn baby.
Rex: What do you mean by face the unborn baby? Are you trying to pursue me because now you u are pregnant?
Nina: Not really, but I think it's better we do away with whatever has passed and face what's current. I'm sorry for my actions after what happened but I had nothing doing with him. I was just offended at the scene you created to disgrace me and even in front of my parents. You went too far. You should have at least asked me. It was far different from what you thought. I was not cheating on you!
Rex: Look Nina, I'm not ready for any fabricated stories right now, when you make up your mind to tell me the truth, I'll listen to you , otherwise excuse me. ( Rex walks away in anger).

Laura calls Rex...

Rex: Hi, Laura how are you doing? Hope you are good!
Laura: I'm fine Rex. Hope you are fine too? How is your wife, What was wrong with her? She was screaming while I was on phone with you. Hope all is well?
Rex: Oh! fine dear. Nina is okay now. She was having stomach upset, took her to hospital and according to the doctor, she took a lot of coffee and chilled water which wasn't good to her body. I think she had a threatened abortion as a result of that. But she is okay now. She has been discharged.
Laura: What! a threatened miscarriage? She is pregnant? Jeeeeez! So she is pregnant and had the mind to cheat on her husband with another man! This woman is so heartless! Hmmmm! Let it not be what I'm thinking... (Rex cuts in).
Rex: Calm down dear. I got to hang off now, I've got a lot of things to do in the system. Talk to you some other time. Thanks for calling dear! You are such a nice person.
Laura: (Smiles...) Alright dear. Thanks and take good care.
