"Whether you believe me or not is up to you. Since I've answered one of your questions, now it's my turn to ask. Who sent you to kill me and my classmates? Oh and before you say anything, think hard about your answer. You are now covered in the thing that I used to blow up that pouch earlier. I can even blow up certain parts of it, say, a certain place that only a man has and that you were using to think earlier instead of your head."
I despise rapists with a passion. When I was younger, a man had broken into my home and almost raped me. What type of person would rape a 6-year-old kid? A f*cking sick one with a mental problem and was probably dropped on the head as a child, that's who. It couldn't be helped as my Dad and I still lived in a poor neighborhood at that time. Luckily, my Dad came home earlier than expected and was able to save me. I learned later that he got fired from his job for leaving early though.
Anyways, the image of that rapist had been etched into my mind and traumatized me. We were too poor to afford a therapist so I only had my Dad to lean and depend on. There were nights where I would wake up screaming and my Dad had to hold and comfort me until I fell back asleep. It was only a few months later that I got better and my Dad got his new job in another country.
When William was speaking to me earlier, his face overlapped with the rapist's face that's stuck in my head. I felt something snap in my head and I just lost all restraint. Well… almost all restraint. I managed to hold off killing him even though a voice in my head was screaming to do it.
"*Gulp*... I... I was only informed by a messenger. I only have a low position in the Royal Army of the Cloud Kingdom. All my orders come from the higher authorities like the captains, lieutenants, generals, or even the royal family."
Hearing what William said made me frown. If what he's saying is the truth, then it could mean that I have an entire kingdom coming after me. Shame I don't have a lie detector skill. I tried using Sensing with my mud to monitor his heart rate but honestly, I don't think it's a reliable lie detecting method.
"I don't like your answer... But fine. I'll accept it. Your turn."
"What? You mean to ask you a question? I thought you were just going to keep questioning me."
"How rude. I am a firm believer of equivalent exchange. If you had just traded the potion with me normally this wouldn't have happened. And now that I have answered your question, it's my turn again."
"…"
I grinned as I lied. I always planned on doing something to this guy as shown by my mud pouch. If he had taken it, I basically planted a bomb on him. But since he made a move first, it couldn't be helped.
"What? That wasn't my-"
"So for my question. Is this potion really what you say it is? Can it regrow a lost limb?"
I shamelessly asked my question. I couldn't forget that Jeff is still in a pinch. William gnashed his teeth.
"Can't you just use Appraisal on it? It's a medium recovery potion like I said. It can't regrow a limb. You would need a high potion for that and those are much more expensive."
'Ah so that skill that he used with his eyes must be Appraisal. It's probably different from my Analysis which is just a skill that lets me analyze mana and assign my own interpretation to things.'
Item Name: Medium Recovery Potion
Rarity: Uncommon
Description: Recovers a medium amount of HP. Cannot regrow lost limbs.
After I heard what William said, I started to head back to where Danae and Jeff were. I collected all of my mud and stopped my buff skills. I kept William encased and used the mud to drag him along behind me at a brisk pace.
"Hey it's my turn right? What to you plan to do to me?" William asked me.
"Hmm. I'll probably keep asking you questions for now. I'm actually pretty dumb and I don't know a lot of things so you'll be hearing some pretty basic questions from me. Like, what's the best way to get some food while in a dungeon?"
"You don't even know this? To think I got beaten by a newbie like you… Monsters don't leave behind anything except magic crystals in dungeons. But it's different outside. If you ran out of food while in the dungeon, you can only get food by hunting or farming outside or buying from the city."
'I see. I did notice that the bodies of monsters dispersed as mana steam after I killed them. Maybe dungeons need the mana to keep running and respawning monsters? But then again, what are dungeons in the first place?'
I wanted to ask William this but I decided that it's better to focus on the essentials first. And also it's his turn.
"How come you are still fine despite being poisoned by my skill? You know if you wait any longer without the antidote, you will die."
"Ah. Let me show you."
My left arm was mud. When the knife hit my arm, I made sure to not let the affected mud near my original body. I detached the poisoned part of my arm and let it evaporate. I then reformed a new arm.
"Tada. Good as new."
I showed this to William and his jaw dropped.
"You aren't human are you?"
"Hey, It's my turn to ask a question."
I jiggled the knife that was stuck in his gut which caused him to groan in pain.
"I already told you that I'm a normal high school girl. Now my question is, where are we right now? And I don't mean inside the dungeon. Tell me as much details as you can about outside."
I asked about the situation outside the dungeon. I started to strip William of his equipment and supplies while he answered.
"... We are inside a dungeon called Cockroach Cave. Outside is Lam Forest which was named because of Lam City that's in the center of it. It's located in the south of the Cloud Kingdom. Further to the south is the port city, Aqua."
As William continued to talk about the geography outside the dungeon, I inspected his equipment. He had some rations and two more of those recovery potions on him. The sneaky bastard lied to me. I used Analysis on all his equipment to see what would show up.
Item Name: Enchanted Leather Helmet
Rarity: Uncommon
Description: DEF +2 over covered body part
He had a total of six pieces of leather armor which were the helmet, breastplate, arm guards, leg guards, boots, and buckler. All of them were enchanted with the same effect with some sort of defense increasing magic. Sadly, my detonation had rendered the leg guards and boots to become unusable. His shortsword was much better than his other pieces of equipment.
Item Name: Blood Bane Shortsword
Rarity: Rare
Description: Blood Suck Skill: Every hit will consume some of the target's blood and mana to restore a small amount of HP, fatigue, hunger, and stamina.
I almost wanted to use Dissolve on it to try to Assimilate the skill because of how good it was. But since there was no guarantee that it would work, I held myself back.
"So since it's my turn, where did you come from?"
William asked me while I was admiring MY new shortsword. I debated whether I should tell him the truth or not.
'Hmm. Well since his higher ups probably already know about me and my classmates, I guess I can tell him the truth. He might reveal more information that way.'
"My friends and I were transported here from another world most likely thanks to one of your superiors. I don't understand why they now want us dead."
William's mouth was wide open. I'm sure his eyes would be the same if they weren't blindfolded.
"… Are you trying to trick me?! You can't possibly be like the heroes from the legends!"
Hook, line, and sinker. I got a lot from his reaction just now.
"It's my turn to ask now, remember? Why don't you tell me all about those hero legends that you just mentioned?"
