Chapter 45 - I Am A Child

What was Mu Zening regretting?

Did he regret not persisting in searching for the body, or did he regret holding that yacht party, or… Did he regret getting involved with his wife's assistant?

The smile on Qiao Jingjia grew even more forced.

She had struggled and finally managed to get to where she was, but it was not to listen to this man pour out his 'regret'.

She hugged Mu Zening gently. Her voice was soft like water. "Zening, I know you can't let go of Sister Su, but it's alright… I'll wait for you. No matter how long it takes, I won't mind…"

When a man was at his most vulnerable, a woman's comfort was the best medicine.

Mu Zening thought of Qiao Jingjia's deep affection as well as her dedication and forbearance. He was touched, and his voice was hoarse as he encircled her waist. "Jingjia, thank you for always being by my side…"

Qiao Jingjia did not say anything. She lifted her slender neck and sealed the rest of his words with her soft red lips.

She knew that she was neither more beautiful nor smarter than Su Zi, but she was softer than Su Zi and knew men better.

A strong woman would arouse a man's desire to conquer, but gentleness would be more pleasing to his heart.

Mu Zening held her delicate body and soon forgot about his painful remorse. All he saw was what was in front of him.

"Scum." In the distance, Mu Zi wanted to poke her eyes out after turning around and witnessing this scene.

She must have been blind to marry a scum like him!

Her sight suddenly turned black.

Mu Zi was stunned. Did she really become blind?

Then, she heard a man's teasing voice ring in her ears. "It's not suitable for children. Don't look."

It was Mu Rongcheng again!

Mu Zi felt like her life was surrounded by scum. She walked away from one just to walk into another!

She pried his hand away and accused him, "You're aware that I'm a child too? Yet you still bully me!"

Mu Rongcheng smiled. "It's because you're young that I'm not willing to really bully you. Zizi, big brother will dote on you in the future."

Mu Zi shuddered violently. She turned to run away and caught up with Bai Wei.

Mu Rongcheng was amused by her small frame fleeing in a hurry. He took wide strides with his long legs and easily walked after her—

  ...

The bungalow had changed greatly.

The nearby flower beds were leveled, and several unknown trees took their place. They had just been planted so they were still tied to support cages.

The change was even greater when walking into the bungalow!

The wall behind the sofa used to be hung with several decorative paintings, but now the entire wall had become a huge glass enclosure! The background was a tropical rainforest and there was a thick withered branch in it. On the branch rested a spotted boa constrictor!

This was Sisi?!

That day in Mu Rongcheng's room, it had been dark and she could not see it clearly, but she knew that it was very large. However, now she felt that it was even larger than it had been in her impression! It was much thicker too!

It was at last four meters long! It was astonishing just how round and fat the snake was!

Mu Zi looked at the giant snake enclosure, dumbstruck. Who would dare to sit there to watch TV with their backs facing that boa?

Mu Zi was clearly uncomfortable as well. She sighed as she looked at the snake, and then turned and entered the kitchen.

"Sisi is very smart. Sometimes, when I forget to feed it, it will come out by itself to look for food." Once Bai Wei left, Mu Rongcheng grew unbridled. He circled his arms around Mu Zi's waist and breathed in her ear.

Mu Zi was alarmed. "Can you lock the enclosure?"

"It's too strong, so there's no point." Mu Rongcheng lowered his head and rested his chin on her shoulder intimately. He said languidly, "But it's very lazy, so it won't come out unless it's starving. It was your bad luck with what happened that day."

Mu Zi felt her limbs grow weak. "Then feed it more!"

"I can't." Mu Rongcheng chuckled. "It's too big, so we need to control its food intake and slow down its growth. Feeding it once a month is enough."

Mu Zi wanted to cry. Did she have to live every day with the possibility of a boa constrictor escaping?
