Chapter 2 - She Died (II)

Su Zi's thoughts had been disorganized for a very long time.

The first thing she felt after waking up was pain!

Her limbs were sore and powerless, her stomach burned as though it was set on fire, and her head hurt terribly as if it had been hit by a hammer!

When she opened her eyes, she saw a white ceiling, blue hospital curtains, and transparent infusion bags with all sorts of labels on them.

'This is… The hospital, right?'

Su Zi frowned and shut her eyes. She then vaguely recalled her last memory—a man had brought her corpse to a strange old man, and said that he would revive her…

'Was I really revived?!'

She raised a hand to pinch herself, then stared blankly at her black-painted fingernails.

Indeed she had been brought back to life… But whose body was she in?

Su Zi wanted to look into the mirror.

She was agitated because she could not wait to confirm if she really did rise from the dead.

The hospital ward's door suddenly opened at that moment—

A beautiful middle-aged woman entered. With teary eyes, she said to the man behind her, "What should I do? Zizi still isn't awake, and the doctor said that she'll be in critical condition if she still doesn't wake up… Zizi?!"

The voice halted.

When she saw that Su Zi was awake, the middle-aged woman hurried over. "Zizi! You're awake?! Do you feel any discomfort? Don't do anything silly anymore, okay? I've been worried sick!"

Su Zi was baffled.

'Isn't this lady… Aunt Bai?'

If Aunt Bai called her Zizi, could it be that she had become… The least favored adopted daughter in the Mu family, Mu Zi?

Bai Wei wiped her tears. "Thank God your elder brother sent you to the hospital in time, or else… What would I do…"

Su Zi became even more puzzled…

Elder brother? … Indeed. If she had become Mu Zi, Mu Rongcheng was her elder brother.

—Mu Rongcheng, the Mu family's fourth young master.

Su Zi's husband, Mu Zening, was the third child in the Mu family. That made Mu Rongcheng her brother-in-law, but now…

'Hehehe, from his sister-in-law to his younger sister. Isn't the seniority in this family becoming too complicated?

'Besides, Mu Rongcheng is known to be untrustworthy, cunning, evil, and very good at bearing grudges!'

He was Elder Mu and Bai Wei's son, but nobody supported him anymore ever since the elder had died. Bai Wei was a timid person, so Mu Rongcheng had often been bullied in the family since young!

Nonetheless, he pretended to be a good-for-nothing in the family so that Mrs. Mu would put her guard down. In actual fact, he was developing his influences in secret. His idleness for ten years gave the Mu family a heavy blow!

Mrs. Mu, who used to abuse him, died in a car accident.

The second young master of the Mu family, who also used to bully him was imprisoned for bribery.

Even the third young master of the family, who was not involved in anything was on the verge of bankruptcy!

Su Zi was convinced that all that happened were not coincidences! They were definitely related to Mu Rongcheng!

She went everywhere to raise money for her husband's company but had been unsuccessful. It was only when her good friend confided in her privately that she realized that Mu Rongcheng's other identity was not simple at all!

He was going to make Mu Group collapse, yet nobody in Green River City dared to help?!

Unfortunately, Su Zi died before she could even investigate his background.

—Needless to say, she had not managed to inform her husband, but let him suffer because of Mu Rongcheng! She was not going to feel sorry for him at all!

Bai Wei was worried when she saw her daughter staring blankly at Mu Rongcheng. "Zizi, what's wrong? Do you… Do you still remember me? This is your elder brother, did you forget?"

Mu Rongcheng rolled his eyes lazily and mocked, "She only drank too much and cut her wrist, not her brain, so she didn't lose her memories."

Su Zi was speechless.

'Can my brother get any harsher than this? Please consider the fragile heart of your younger sister, who failed to commit suicide, alright?'
