Night falls in a blink of an eye. Eating their dinner in silence, nobody care to speak up another word. All of them are busy indulging in their world, isolating their mind to these foreign situations.
Seth and his family finally pulled themselves together when they went to bed that night. They had accepted the fact that all these are not a dream. Their situation right now, is not just a simple nightmare that ended once they opened up their eyes as soon as they wake up from their sleep. Nor was it a Sci-Fi movie of the apocalypse movie that they frequently watch on the TV.
It's real.
------------
Gazing up the wooden ceiling above her head, Lucy tossed and turned on the bed. It has been about an hour already, and she is still unable to fall asleep. Her eyes were bloodshot red, her body ache, and her head even started to hurt a bit, but her mind still wanders around, refusing to cooperate with her tired body.
On this queen bed, Suzy that is lying on her left side were already snoring lightly. Her favorite plushie that she used to hug to sleep, were left unattended at the bedside. Maybe due to the stressful day they had an encounter today, Suzy falls asleep right after her head hit the soft pillow. Patting Suzy's head softly, Lucy smiled. She is glad that Suzy was able to take these situations better than she is.
Propping her head up a bit on the bed, Lucy stares at the creaks of the wooden ceiling above her head.
It's 3 am now. Almost 24 hours had passed since the tsunami siren woke them up from their sleep last night. Lucy ponders about what is going to happen next? Will there be any help coming? Is the tsunami gone now? Or at least, when will the electricity and the telephone line be fixed?
After she arrived in Uncle Ben's house, not a single news was heard. She did not know if the government was alerted about their condition now and have they conducted their search and rescue yet? Is help coming their way as she sleeps now?
The TV and the telephones landline were not working. Even her cellphone was not working by now. Probably the battery has died. How she wished that she knew what is the situation out there. Currently, all the communication systems available were cut off ever since the tsunami hit them.
Suddenly Lucy jerked her body up, and sits upon the bed.
Mia... How is her sister doing right now? Is she safe? She almost forgot about her elder sister. Taking out her cellphone, she tried to switch the phone on. After a countless of times clicking the ON button, it was up to no avail; the phone screen remains black without any signs of starting up.
Lucy becomes desperate by the second. She felt her chest were stuffy and felt suffocated. Soon, tears started streaming down her cheek, and she sobbed sadly.

"Listen up, the water already recedes long ago. The quakes also were not that strong now. I think that it would be safe enough if we venture out to search for any survivors. We cannot wait any longer if we wait any more than those people that needed our help will die."
This disaster has occurred more than 12 hours now, but weirdly there were no rescuers found in the disaster area. There are several people seeking shelter in the highland area. Some of the men were retired army and some active-duty police officer that were on holiday. They already tried calling for help using their radio patrol car, but there was no response received.
They were desperate as their wait for help did not arrive. Normally when the tsunami siren rang, it would alert the authorities too, thus it means helps is coming, but the situation now, it looks like they were abandoned to self-sustain.
Looking at the situation, one of the retired army decided to take charge and gathered all the volunteers and formed groups to go out and seek for survivors. They cannot wait for help any longer. They need to help themselves.
Most of the volunteers were people that have separated from their relatives or family members during the disaster, they will go out and look for any survivors out there and they will try to bring them safety. For those who volunteered to go out that are trying to look for any belongings that might have survived the disaster, they were tasked to collect anythings or any food that can still be used to survive.
The disaster that hits Hawaii, were not restricted to the tsunamis alone, but there are earthquakes, collapsed buildings and roads, landslides, fire, and even explosions from the underground gas tunnel.
According to the Fire department data, the golden period for casualty survival, it differs according to the types of disaster occurred. For drowning victims, it takes only 4 minutes before the brain function to died. Soon, death may follow if treatment were not given within 4 to 6 minutes. So for those who are washed away by the tsunami and unable to make their escape in time, they are probably died due to drowning itself.
If a person were trapped under the rubble of a fallen building, or they are trapped in their car because of the landslides and earthquakes, the survival rate will decrease for every hour they are trapped inside. More than 10 hours of entrapment, there are only 75% of casualty survival.
