Chapter 49 - Worse Than a Beast

Luo Qiao found that rather strange.

Would a cold take its toll so quickly? Reaching out, she touched his forehead again. It didn't feel terribly warm.

"Are you experiencing any other symptoms?" she asked with a frown. Maybe it was something else?

He gave her a quick glance and said, "No."

"…Let me call the family physician."

The man buckled and stopped her by clinging to her around her waist. Then with a muffled drawl he said, "No, don't." He added after a moment, "It's just a cold."

A cold was causing him to be like this?

Luo Qiao refused to believe him. She helped him onto the seat and then walked out of the room to make the call to the family physician anyway.

At this point, her cell phone, which she had left on the table, vibrated once. A text message appeared on the screen: Miss Luo, are you almost here?

Ming Siran narrowed his eyes.

Luo Qiao was not in the room. Ignoring all ethics, he picked up her cell phone and unlocked it with ease.

Her secret PIN had always been 1122 and that had never changed all these years.

He clicked through to the text message and started to type with his long and slender fingers: 'Ex-boyfriend is sick and I'm with him, I might be late.'

Having sent that message, he deleted the record and placed the cell phone back where it was. Then he leaned back languidly against the headboard.

After a while, Luo Qiao returned to the room. "Ah, I left my cell phone behind."

She picked up the device and was just about to leave again, when it vibrated. She stopped to read the message that had come in.

Mr. Chen: 'Miss Luo, perhaps you might not be my ideal partner after all. I'm sorry, it's better that we do not meet.'

Luo Qiao: '???'

She immediately dialed Mr. Chen's phone number. It rang no more than twice before it got disconnected.

What the heck?! She got angry at once. "Is this guy mad? What's wrong with him?"

Ming Siran threw her a glance and drawled, "What's wrong?"

Luo Qiao hissed angrily, "Ran into a lunatic!"

Everything was going smoothly right up till last night and now he had suddenly decided she wasn't an ideal partner for him. Where had gentlemanliness gone?

As Ming Siran crossed his long legs, everything about him sent through seductive vibes. "Is that so? Then he's worse than a beast."

She nodded in agreement, "That's right! Worse than a beast!"

She threw him an angry glance and said with a curious tone, "You seem to be feeling better?"

"I feel much better."

"So fast?"

He replied casually, "I'm young and healthy."

"…"

Holding her cell phone, she asked the man, "Do I need to call for a doctor still?"

"No."

"…" Puzzled, Luo Qiao observed him for a while. He didn't look unwell at all. She frowned and walked away, looking most confused.

After she had left, the man took out his cell phone and sent Luo Qianheng a text message: 'It's been dealt with.'

Luo Qianheng: 'Indeed my great future son-in-law! [Thumbs-up]'

Ming Siran: \( ̄) ̄)/

There was another big event that took place this particular weekend. At 1 am, a photograph was released on Luo Qiao's mini blog.

The man in the photograph was bright and beautiful, like the sun, and had a great physique, but it was obvious that it was a stolen shot.

However, most importantly, it was a stolen shot of… Ke Bozhou.
