Li Changshou really would not recognize that fellow if he did not appear with the headgear. He was actually the famous Ox-head of the Netherworld.
Who is this Ox-head?
There was a poem in ancient times that read:
"There's a Justice Yama in the Netherworld. He is impartial and he can distinguish between good and evil. The Netherworld judge is here to help. The Ox-head and Horse-face are beside him."
The 'Ox-head' and Horse-face were the emissaries of the Netherworld whom Li Changshou was very familiar with in his previous life. They were basically as famous as the Black and White Impermanence.
In Li Changshou's blurry memories, there was a noodle shop near his home when he was young. It was called the Cow Head Horse. It tasted pretty good!
Speaking of which… are the famous Ox-head and Horse-face really just two experts from the Magi race who had merely put on some headgear?
