Chapter 36 - Chapter 36 The Death God's Treasure Bead (Vote for Recommendation!)

At the World Tree, Eve, who had just finished distributing rewards for players' quests, quickly sensed the sacrificial prayer of the Berserker.

Her heart stirred, and she opened the channel for sacrifice, immediately adding a delicate Skull Wand to the Divine Space.

Eve was slightly delighted. With a grand wave of Her hand, She sent out the system notification "Task Objective 2 Completed" to every participating player, rewarding each with 300 contribution points.

Contribution points are a feature unlocked when players reach level 11. They are used for class advancements, skill exchanges, and equipment purchases within Eve's temple. Players can also trade contribution points among themselves, making it a form of currency in the early stages of the game.

In the game's early stages, Eve has few NPCs under Her command and not many players, so She involved Herself in class advancements, skill learning, and equipment exchanges by offering them for contribution points, setting up a contribution points exchange system within the temple.

However, in the future, Eve plans to gradually delegate these fundamental functions to other NPCs, partly to enhance player interactions with NPCs and partly to lower the game system's burden to save Divine Power. She would then focus the exchange primarily on certain special skills or rare equipment.

After rewarding the players, Eve turned Her attention to Gululu's Undead Staff.

The moment the Undead Staff entered the Divine Space, Eve felt a strong surge of energy again. She used Her Divine Power to lightly touch it, and a purple-black energy immediately emanated from the Treasure Bead at the tip of the staff, which turned out to be the pure power of Elf Souls.

Sensing the despair and sorrow of the souls, Eve sighed inwardly and took action to purify them:

"Your nightmare is over."

The holy and gentle Divine Power passed over, and the purple-black energy was instantly purified, transforming into elves who prostrated before Eve, chanting praises of nature with gratitude, and then turning into numerous pure beliefs powers that flowed into Eve's divinity.

And the purple Treasure Bead also shed its original color, becoming crystal clear and transparent. If it were not for a slight crack, it would have been a perfect piece of craftsmanship.

At the moment of purifying the souls, Eve clearly sensed Her Divine Power increase by another 5 points.

Previously, players had exterminated over two hundred Goblins for Her, contributing a total of 2.4 Divine Power points; destroying the Goblin High Priest and his Undead Army had provided another 4 Divine Power points, and finding a Divine Blood Crystal had added an additional 1.5 Divine Power points.

Even after deducting various expenses, Her Divine Power points had now exceeded 25, reaching an all-time high!

Looking at Her Divine Power points, joy filled Eve's heart.

"It seems that eradicating Goblins is indeed a good method. If I could completely eliminate the Goblins of Feilengcui, perhaps my Divine Power points could increase by a few more!"

"Hmm, after the players level up and change classes, I can get them to fully eradicate the remaining Goblins in Feilengcui. The remaining High Priests shouldn't be a threat anymore. The Divine Blood Crystals they've been collecting must be hidden somewhere in the ruins... There should be at least four or five, right?"

Eve thought expectantly.

"Moreover... there should still be six or seven Elf City ruins within the Elf Forest, including the ruins of the Elf Capital..."

"If even Feilengcui, the closest place to me, has Goblins appearing, chances are Uller has also infiltrated these areas. If I can also eliminate all the Goblins there, perhaps my Divine Power points could break through the threshold of fifty!"

"Not to mention, this calculation doesn't even include the Divine Blood Crystals. If those are factored in, there's a good chance I could escape near-death state ahead of time!"

With these thoughts, Eve's mood became even more joyful, feeling another step closer to freedom of action.

While pleased, She planned to use Her Divine Power to transform the Undead Staff into a fine Legendary Magic Wand, then place it in the contribution points exchange system for players to redeem.

This wasn't the first time She had remodeled or, rather, enhanced equipment.

Eve had divided the equipment of the Segis Continent into four categories: gold for legendary, purple for epic, blue for rare, and white for common.

Let's not mention the wooden weapons and equipment given to players upon logging into the game. The equipment left behind by the Half-Beasts that the Oak Guardian Berserker had annihilated was all reclaimed by Them, who used a total of 0.1 Divine Power points to refurbish and throw them into the exchange system—all of them purple-grade gear.

They're just waiting for players to change their class and then open the exchange system to trade their contribution points for them.

Eve knows all too well the players' obsession with equipment, once this system is launched, and with contribution points as task rewards, the players will surely fight wherever they're directed without any hesitation.

Thinking of this, Eve allocated 0.05 Divine Power points, planning to forge this Magic Wand into a unique gold-tier weapon of the Black Iron class for the entire server.

However, as soon as Divine Power entered the Magic Wand, an unexpected scene occurred.

The transformation of the equipment that was imagined didn't happen—the Treasure Bead of the Magic Wand had directly absorbed Their Divine Power!

"Hmm?"

Eve's heart skipped a beat.

Every high-quality Magic Wand has a Treasure Bead at the tip that can store Magic Power, but what They released was Divine Power!

Divine Power is not just any ordinary force; it's the power of a True God, the energy of the highest quality and the strongest level in existence.

"What's the deal with this Treasure Bead?"

Eve took a closer look at the Magic Wand, and this glance immediately gave Them a clue:

"The material of this Magic Wand's handle is actually Devil Wood? Is it a sealed item?"

Devil Wood, a special and precious plant that grows in alternate planes and possesses the effect of sealing items. If it's Devil Wood that has grown for over a thousand years, it can even block the sight of True Gods to a certain extent!

And this Magic Wand's handle, upon careful inspection by Eve, turned out to be used to seal the Treasure Bead on top of it!

Before, They just thought this was a Magic Wand for storing the energy of undead souls, but They had misjudged it.

"There's a problem with this Treasure Bead! Indeed, how could a mere Goblin enslave so many Elf Souls if there wasn't a problem!"

Thinking of this, Eve became cautious.

"It seems I was overly excited, such a simple thing, yet I didn't notice it."

After a mental self-warning, Eve decided to deal with this piece of equipment anew.

Anything capable of absorbing Divine Power isn't ordinary; They wanted to figure out exactly what this Treasure Bead was.

Without hesitation, just thinking made it so, Eve directly snapped off the Treasure Bead from the Magic Wand, breaking the seal.

And as the seal was broken, the originally crystal-clear Treasure Bead suddenly emitted a gentle glow, giving off a sense of solemn majesty.

Eve's spirits lifted, and then They used Their own appraisal ability.

To Their astonishment, a full 2 points of Divine Power were consumed, and the true name of the Treasure Bead emerged in Their mind:

[Death God Hela's Soul Storage Orb (Damaged)]
