Chapter 14 - Who Said I Was An Illegitimate Daughter?

Shen Yugui's eyes flashed coldly. The next moment, she reached out and grabbed the bank card. "Why, thank you."

It was money that belonged to her. She had no reason to refuse!

However, the other party did not let go of the card.

Shen Zhilan never thought that she would react this way and was shocked.

She looked at the person in front of her… Shen Yugui cocked her head. The birthmark on her face stood out like a sore thumb. Her voice was soft and curious. "Are you… Going back on your words?"

That nervous appearance undoubtedly belonged to that ugly woman.

Shen Zhilan was furious.

How could she go back on her word in front of the whole class?

At this moment, she could only grit her teeth and forge on!

Shen Zhilan let go and snapped, "Of! Course! Not!"

That was her entire allowance!

Looking at Shen Zhilan's constipated expression put Shen Yugui in a good mood. She put the bank card into her pocket and stood to leave.

However, just as she turned around, an arrogant voice said, "Panda eyes, how could you be so shameless?"

Panda eyes?

Shen Yugui turned around and saw a boy in the corner stand up slowly. He was dressed in jeans and looked very stylish with delicate and attractive facial features, but with a tinge of chuuni thrown in.

Shen Zhilan's face immediately turned red upon seeing the boy stand up. She looked at him with bright eyes and said gently, "Elder Brother Zifan, forget it."

Chen Zifan raised his chin and snorted coldly. He leaned against the table and swiftly jumped on it. He walked on the tabletops until he reached Shen Yugui's desk, where he then squatted down and looked down at her from a higher position. "Zhilan is kind and won't bicker with you, but I just don't like how you're acting! Won't you burn your hands holding so much money?"

Shen Yugui was caught with a dumbfounded expression

There was clearly a clear path to where she was, but this weirdo decided to strut on the tables instead. What's more, with that tone... Was he itching for a slap?

She remained silent for a moment but still looked serious. "I'll tell you if my hands burn or not after getting the cash."

Chen Zifan was caught speechless.

He looked at the girl in front of him and remembered that in the past, she would hardly dare to look at him. She was as insignificant as the air that surrounded them both. If he spoke to her, she would run away in panic and never dared to talk back like she did today, however softly. He felt like he had just punched cotton.

Chen Zifan was furious. He leaned forward and lowered his voice. "Hey, ugly. Do you really think you're all that now that you climbed into my elder cousin's bed?! How dare you talk to me like that?"

Shen Yugui was slightly stunned. "Elder cousin?"

"What are you acting dumb for? Do you think that I don't know what you've been up to these few days? My elder cousin is the president of the Fei family. An illegitimate daughter like you will never enter his eyes, much less get engaged to him! Stop your wishful thinking!"

Shen Yugui was struck with an epiphany.

'So this guy is Fei Nancheng's younger cousin? He really does look slightly similar to Fei Nancheng.'

Her lips curled up. She suddenly looked at the two people standing beside Shen Zhilan. She said slowly, anticipating the incoming drama, "Who said I was an illegitimate daughter?"

Chen Zifan suddenly froze. "What do you mean?"

Shen Zhilan instantly panicked.

Even before, this ugly woman never dared to explain herself when others called her an illegitimate child. Who would have thought that she would be this bold now that she had stuck herself to Mr. Fei?!

  1. Chuunibyou (中二病) is a Japanese colloquial term that made it into Chinese net slang which translates to 'middle school 2nd year sickness'. It's typically used to describe early-teens who have delusions of grandeur or believe they have special powers. Here, the text used the shortform 中二,hence 'chuuni'.
