Valentina woke up but was shivering in the cold, she was so confused about what happened the previous night. She remained motionless, curling herself up against the balcony door.
Liam awoke. He looked around and found himself back at home.
That was a weird dream...
But it felt...so real...
He stood up on his feet and looked at Valentina. He felt no sympathy, he ignored her silent presence and walked to the bedroom, Emma was crying.
He picked her up, and seated her on the sofa. By looking at his face, Emma became calm. Emma, innocently, directed her face infront of her mother, who was quietly sobbing. Emma wore a empathetic face.
Liam leaned over from behind the sofa, he looked at Emma's sad, cute expression.
"Don't worry, Emma... Everything is fine... mommy just needs to be punished right now... She did something really bad. Don't follow in her footsteps, Emma. Or else daddy might do the same to you... And daddy doesn't want to do that to you... so you have to be a good girl..."
Emma with her sad expression, listened to her fathers words, as if she understood the meaning. Liam lifts his head up, and saw blood smudged on the glass door. He didn't notice it before, so he dashed himself to the balcony, opened the door and lifted Valentina's arm.
She wasn't responding. Her head swayed down, as blood poured down from her face to the floor.
"What the shit?..."
Liam placed her on the opposite sofa, and looked, carefully at her wound. It looked awfully familiar. It was the same cut that she woke up to, in the previous night. Liam also, recognised this wound from the night, Valentina killed Emma and hurt herself. However...
"No...all I remember was that I...killed...Emma..."
"...But you came in! And pushed me to the balcony!
You locked the door and left me there! You were about to kill yourself!! I was so confused... Why did you do that?.."
Wait...that's what happened last night... How did she know about this...The night before? Liam thought to himself, as he cleaned Valentina's wounds. He bandaged her up, and left her there on the coach.
He fed Emma and himself, left her on the floor to play. While he sat on the dining table, in deep thought. He thought about what he saw last night, and that the rage just haunted him.
Liam stood up and walked over to the balcony, expecting to see a dead body laying there. Unfortunately there was none.
How come Valentina didn't come back to normal?... That wound disappeared by morning... However... it hasn't healed up by now...
Liam went by Valentina's sleeping body. He shook her.
"Hey... Wake up...!" No response. He began stroking her body, from her legs up to her face.
"Valentina! Wake up! Damn IT!" He shouted in despair. He was not upset nor did he wear a sad expression... However... The thought of losing his wife made him shudder...
Liam gently rested his hand on her injured eye and leaned his head on her forehead.
"What did we do wrong?... Valentina did nothing sinful... then why are we both being punished for this?..."
Liam's eyes began to tear up. His tear fell from his eye... and landed on Valentina's soft cheek.
"She has been sinful for a while... You don't know anything about her past, do you?"
Liam looked up, from where the sound he heard was coming from. But there was no one there. Just Emma.
"Liam..."
He followed her voice and looked down. Valentina's eyes were opened. She removed the bandage from her eye already, and looked at him with both her gorgeous eyes.
"Val..."
As she sat up, Liam went in straight for a hug. Valentina looked shocked, then slowly pushed him away.
"What are you doing?... Don't you know what I did...?"
"Yeah... Why?... Why did that happen?..."
Valentina fell silent. She had no words to explain her reasonings.
"Hey... It's ok... you can tell me... I won't say anything..." Liam softly smiled at her.
Then, Valentina suddenly began to cry, she leaned towards him, and cried on his chest.
"He was threatening me...! He wanted to kill Emma!... I didn't know what else to do...! But...in the end... he killed her! All because of me!!"
Valentina sobbed louder and louder. Liam comforted her, he rubbed her back and gave her a silent kiss on her forehead.
"Shh... It's ok... But first tell me... are you going to paint anything today?..." Liam asked.
Valentina slowly lifted her face and looked at him with eyes, full of danger.
"What?... Does it look like I'm in the mood to paint?"
"Fine. If you won't... I will." Liam got up and headed for the painting room, as abruptly as he did, Valentina went after him.
"Hey! Where do you think you're going?!"
"I told you... If you're not painting then I will!"
"Why do you want to paint so badly?"
Liam couldn't bring himself to answer her question, honestly. So, he gave her the paint brush and kissed her on the cheek.
"Please... You waited so long for this... Don't let this chance slip away."
What?... I don't understand... Isn't he Mad? After what happened last night?... This doesn't make sense...
Valentina setted up her paints, however, before she could begin, she sat blankly staring at the empty canvas. No inspiration came to mind.
Liam cooked her breakfast, he placed the tray on a table next to the eisle. He placed his arm on her shoulder and held her close.
"Hey... What's wrong?..."
"I can't paint anything..."
"... Why don't you just stroke abit of paint of the canvas...?"
"But I seriously don't know what to paint!-"
"Close your eyes..." Liam interupts with a soft voice whispering into her ear. She did as told.
He held her hand, guiding the paintbrush. They both had their eyes closed, as he stroked whatever paint on the canvas.
They didn't paint much...However, once Valentina opened her eyes, to see a purple streak spreading across the canvas... She knew exactly what to do next.
"I got it!" She gasps.
"That was quick..."
Valentina began painting. But Liam stayed close, he kissed her on the cheek and said, "I love you..."
Valentina's cheeks turned red, she looked back at him and repeated, "I love you too..."

Valentina looked back at her complete painting. She spent the whole day working on it, while Liam took care of Emma and the housework.
She went to the living room, and relaxed down on the sofa, with Liam.
"Ah... I did it. Happy?"
Liam wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "Very... You have no idea."
After a few moments of silence, Valentina slowly lays her head on Liam's chest.
"I don't understand... it felt as if two worlds collided in one night..." Valentina says as she looks at the ceiling.
"What do you mean?"
"One minute I'm here, crying my lungs out, watching you kill him...and then I wake up and you had no idea what I did... That's what I don't understand..."
"I know... It's confusing... but there's nothing we can do. Just keep painting until you've finished all seven canvases... alright?"
"Why?..."
"Just..."
.
.
.
"Why arn't you mad at me?" Valentina asks in a calm, quiet voice.
"For what?"
"I...basically cheated on you... You were so angry last night, you threw him off the balcony and from the look in your eyes...I could tell... you wanted to do the same to me..."
"Well... last night, I acted like that because I was there in the moment... I didn't know what else I to do... Besides... you had a good reason... I don't blame you... in fact... I love you... There's nothing that can come in between us..."
They looked into each others eyes, and kissed.
"Well... unless you actually do cheat on me for no good reason at all... I guess that would end it..." Liam continued.
"Well... We wouldn't want that to happen...do we?"
"Listen, Valentina..."
"Yes..."
"Just remember... not even death can separate us... Even if we are far apart... I want you to remember... I'll always trust you... no matter what..."
