Throughout the ride, the two of them did not exchange a single word.
Ji Anning sat in the back seat, and Ji Jingfeng buckled his seatbelt, glanced at Ji Anning through the rearview mirror, and then he started the car.
"Jingfeng, there is something I want to tell you. You might not believe me, but I still need to explain it to you."
As the car hit the road, Ji Anning finally spoke; she looked at Ji Jingfeng with a serious expression.
Upon hearing this, Ji Jingfeng turned around and looked at her with a puzzled expression, "What is it?"
Ji Anning did not hesitate as she spoke, "The man you saw in the surveillance footage, the man who left the room with me, I actually don't know him. I don't know who he is; I haven't seen his true face even now."
Hearing this, a touch of sarcastic laughter flickered across Ji Jingfeng's eyes, even though he tried to conceal it, Ji Anning caught it.
She anticipated that he wouldn't believe her and let out a self-deprecating chuckle.
