Chapter 26 - Restricted Regional-Type Mission

For an ordinary levelling team, if one were to come to the Gray Stone Forest to level up and kill six or seven monsters, the experience was pretty ample. If one were able to kill eight or nine monsters, the experience would definitely leave one grinning from ear-to-ear. Now that Ye Chen alone had taken two teams' worth of experience, his experience was shooting up like a rocket taking off into space.

This long-lost sensation of his experience soaring made Ye Chen, a person who already liked levelling, feel even more refreshed.

Ye Chen attracted 14 or 15 Stone Wolves at a time. Approximately ten were directly killed by the Durian Bomb Tree that was boosted by the "Illusions of Time". At the same time, the remaining few coming in from behind finally arrived and wanted to attack Ye Chen. But Ye Chen only led them a few rounds around under the stone pillars, and they were quickly aggroed by the Durian Bomb Tree. Then he circled around the stone pillar innocently, and he hollered excitedly at the Durian Bomb Tree from time to time.

 "Carry on!"

After completely getting rid of the aggro from the last few Stone Wolves, Ye Chen kept running towards the Stone Wolves on the other side of the other stone pillars.

According to Ye Chen's plan, he found two stone pillars separated by a certain distance and transplanted a Durian Bomb Tree over. After he finished bombing one area, he directly ran over to the other pillar, killing the waves of monsters in rotation. However, there were several stone pillars where it was unsuitable for the plants to be transplanted. Take, for example, the pillar in front of him. Though he could choose to transplant a Durian Bomb Tree over, however, the distance would become too far apart, and it would take a lot of time to cover the distance.

And the number of Stone Wolves was much higher than what Ye Chen had recalled. Ye Chen's memories regarding this place were only limited to remembering having droves of people swarming the site at that time and unable to see a single monster at all. Thus, the idea of simultaneously killing the areas at once popped into his mind.

In actuality, because his speed was still half a step slower than that of the Stone Wolf, Ye Chen couldn't afford to attract too many monsters. Otherwise, it would quickly become too dangerous. After some observation, Ye Chen decided to divide the monsters around the stone pillar into two semicircles. The dozen or so monsters just now were the monsters in the semicircle on the left. On the other hand, the monsters he was about to lure would be in the semicircle on the right.

If it weren't for the fact that the ceiling area of these stone pillars in the Gray Stone Forest being too narrow, making it impossible to plant two Durian Bomb Trees at the same time, Ye Chen would have simply transplanted another Durian Bomb Tree to the top, expediting the killing process.

However, the speed of killing monsters was actually quite abnormal now. Although Ye Chen still had some regrets, he didn't pay much attention to them but merely focused on attracting the monsters.

However, the cooldown of Illusions of Time was still one minute. Ye Chen obviously had no way to use the skill every time to speed up the Durian Bomb Tree's damage output and quickly kill the Stone Wolves.

"Single Transplantation!"

However, Ye Chen had some countermeasures and transplanted another Durian Bomb Tree to an area more than three meters away from the stone pillar. Then he took another group of Stone Wolves and ran to the stone pillar.

The stone pillars were only so big. Hence, Ye Chen dared not take them to wander around too much under the stone pillars. Otherwise, he would fall prey to the wolves as soon as he lagged behind. Ye Chen led the pack of Stone Wolves and charged towards the other stone pillar, making them suffer a round of bombardment from the Durian Bomb Tree situated at the top of the stone pillar.

Some of the Stone Wolves attacked by the Durian Bomb Tree suffered critical damage, and their aggro was pulled over by the Durian Bomb Tree. They circled under the stone pillar, while for those less heavily injured, they still followed behind Ye Chen, and Ye Chen led these Stone Wolves to the other Durian Bomb Tree.

When he first lured these monsters, Ye Chen had already taken this situation into consideration, so there were two more monsters on the left semicircle, while a total of twelve to thirteen monsters were on the right side. Among these numbers, six or seven were dragged away by the Durian Bomb Tree on the stone pillar. At the same time, the remaining half followed Ye Chen to another Durian Bomb Tree.

Leading the remaining pack of Stone Wolves, Ye Chen ran half a circle around the Durian Bomb Tree on the ground before running back to the stone pillar.

Judging from the probability rate of the Durian Bomb Tree on the stone pillar, Ye Chen estimated that the aggro of about two to three would be pulled away by the Durian Bomb Tree on the ground. And the reality was as what Ye Chen predicted, out of the six Stone Wolves following him, three were dragged away by the Durian Bomb Tree on the ground.

Although a Botanist had various shortcomings, the plants themselves have a large HP pool, high Defense, and HP recovery characteristics. Typically, it was not a problem for a plant to resist two monsters of the same level. Of course, the plant will also be significantly damaged. It was certainly not a sustainable solution if the plants were not allowed to rest and to recover HP.

As a super-rare plant species, the Durian Bomb Tree did not only have a frighteningly high Attack, but all its other attributes were higher than ordinary plants. However, the Stone Wolf was five levels higher than Ye Chen, and its Attack was even higher than monsters of the same level. Under the siege of the three Stone Wolves, the Durian Bomb Tree would definitely be unable to resist.

So after verifying the number of monsters pulled by the Durian Bomb Tree on the ground, the moment he had the chance, a Withering Light struck the head of a Stone Wolf that was just pulled away by the Durian Bomb Tree. The Stone Wolf immediately discarded its aggro towards the Durian Bomb Tree and rushed towards Ye Chen.

This was a unique way of pulling aggro that the Botanist had. It was called "priority hatred". In the priority hatred state, as long as the Botanist used skills to actively attack the monster that had its aggro pulled by the plant, the monster's aggro would immediately transfer back to the Botanist.

Priority hatred mainly existed to protect the plants of the Botanist. If there was no priority hatred, the life of a Botanist would only be more laborious.

However, priority hatred could only take effect once every ten seconds, and it was even an automatic effect. Many novice Botanists who turned on priority hatred but forgot to close it were often killed without even knowing why. They would then go to the forum to scold the developers for being fools for designing such a stupid system.

After going one round in this manner, when Ye Chen circled back to the stone pillar with four Stone Wolves in tow, several of the Stone Wolves surrounding the stone pillar were already killed by the Durian Bomb Tree. Ye Chen simply encircled the stone pillar twice, and followed the aggro of his four Stone Wolves was quickly pulled by the Durian Bomb Tree.

Afterwards, Ye Chen finally switched off the priority hatred function and attacked the two Stone Wolves of the grounded Durian Bomb Tree with Withering Light.

As the rumbling explosions continued unceasingly, more than a dozen Stone Wolves quickly collapsed on the ground. Only slightly more than half the HP of the Durian Bomb Tree on the ground was shaved off in the end.

"What a petty monster!"

There were almost a total of thirty monsters killed after his efforts, but when Ye Chen cleaned up the battlefield, he only picked up less than one hundred copper coins.

Looking at the dozens of copper coins, Ye Chen felt a painful aching in his heart, wondering whether it was necessary to continue wasting time here.

But mosquitoes were still meat even if they were small, and it should be enough to buy a loaf of bread after going a few more rounds…

And… the time cycle was just right. When Ye Chen finished picking up the copper coins, the monsters on the left side of the stone pillar began to refresh one after another!

"Great!" Ye Chen beamed.

This way, he could basically achieve seamless mobbing, and the efficiency of his monster hunting would be maximised!

The newly refreshed monster on the left was brought back by him, who was incomparably familiar with the route. The Illusions of Time had cooled down by now as well. Using the Illusions of Time, this time Ye Chen did not even need to dispatch the Durian Bomb Tree on the ground and quickly cleared the left semicircle worth of monsters.

When this wave of monsters was annihilated, the HP of the Durian Bomb Tree on the ground was restored to nearly 90%. The monsters on the right also began refreshing one after another, and Ye Chen dashed towards them again.

Although the item drops were not very stellar, Ye Chen's experience went up at a crazy pace. Within two hours, the white light of symbolising Ye Chen's level up suddenly flashed!

Level Up!

The amount of experience that others typically needed to spend 10 hours to acquire, he got it in less than two hours!

"Haha, with this speed, I'm truly invincible!"

Although he already had some understanding of the rate that the Durian Bomb Tree killed monsters, Ye Chen still did not expect that after owning the Durian Bomb Tree, his levelling speed would be boosted to such a perverted extent!

After Level 15, one was now able to pick a deputy profession. However, Ye Chen was beside himself with joy right now, and not in a hurry to acquire the deputy Profession. Tonight, he would go crazy here, consecutively rising several levels, and enjoy the thrill of this abnormal levelling speed!

After tasting the sweet nectar of levelling, Ye Chen was even more motivated in killing monsters. On the other hand, after the two Durian Bomb Trees massacred a large number of Stone Wolves, they were promoted to Level 2 one after another, each of their attributes increasing drastically. The rate of killing monsters became even simpler and faster. When luring the monsters, Ye Chen directly used Withering Light to attract a few more distant Stone Wolves over.

Another hour passed, and Ye Chen's experience soared horrifyingly by more than 30% of his experience bar. As long as he was given another two hours, he could immediately rise another level!

[System Prompt: An adventurer in your area map has triggered a Restricted Regional-type Mission. The mission is about to begin. Will you accept the mission?]

Ye Chen was still luring monsters at that point. When he received the prompt from this system, his heart suddenly gave a violent thump!

Restricted Regional-type Mission?

It must be the Warring Dragon Guild! In that instant, Ye Chen could only think of such a possibility!
