Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: I am King

Four years ago, I took over the Kindle Kingdom. It was a small, thriving kingdom who had just lost its King. So I "offered" to take over...

Four years ago:

"Who the heck are you?!"

"What?! A red eyed girl? Get away, you monster!"

"What is a mutated human doing here?!"

"I will become the new King of this Kingdom. Accept or I'll do it by force," I demanded, pointing a gun at the aristocrats, "What's your decision? Hmm?"

They back away, "Guards?"

"They're all dead."

One of them looks at me with disgust. I shoot inches away from his face.

"The next one will hit," I threaten. This is a waste of my time.

"We surrender! Please spare our lives!"

We seat ourselves at the meeting table. Some were warily glaring at me and others were shaking.

" I have a couple of rules for my leadership," I glare back at them, "First, you will not tell anyone that I am a red eye. Second, you will all support my leadership and serve under me. Third, I will do whatever I want, even not attending meetings. If you are to break any of these rules, I will come after your heads."

... four years and the kingdom has yet to change. So boring... I

have issued commands to expand our kingdom, but none have been successful.

"Your highness, breakfast is ready."

"I will be there in a few minutes," I put on my contacts and headed to the dining room.

Stabbing my food, I wonder what I should do today.

"Have you heard? The new troops established last month are rising and really strong! Plus the leaders are so handsome!" I hear maids gossiping. I ignore them and tell them to leave. Ha! So strong? What a joke. I bet I could beat them easily.

After dressing in disguise, I head into the city. It's better than being cooped up in the palace and being weak. Besides, no one cares because they know what will happen if they defy me. I sneak into a building, namely outside the conference room in the city hall.

"I'm so sick of that red eye demon!"

"Curse that evil scientist! To experiment and make such disgusting things! I'm glad we got rid of him."

"Hush! Someone will hear you! But I have to agree, we should get rid of that thing."

An elderly voice croaks, "Th-there is o-one weakness that all things have. W-we will u-use that chance."

I perk my ears up, listening intently at their plan.

"I-it will take some time..."

"What is it?"

"L-love, o-of course," the elderly continued.

"Oh! We'll just wait for that chance and take that thing down."

"A-all we have to d-do is wait."

I walk back out into the crowds of the city, thinking. It's true that one would do anything to protect a loved one, unless they don't truly love that person... but they underestimated me. Do you think I would ever fall in love with anyone?! I snicker to myself. That's a failed plan.
