Flabbergasted by the scene, I panicked a little while before collected my calm and walked nearby the counter enough to let Catarina listen to my words.

Startled by my advice, part of her head came out from behind the counter. A cute glare came from her stabbing me. Her ears all red from blushing.
Feeling satisfied glaring at me, the red eared half head submerged to hide behind the counter again and used a drying spell. I could feel the surrounding drier.
She came out with her hair back to its original form before the accident. Her hair was hold by an ice which seemed to be her magic as well.
Coughing, she told me the verdict.

She brought out another white placate and pushed it to my front.
[This is a special quest placate. Please take this toward the dragon's den and clear the surrounding area of the city toward the dragon's den. Do you have any question?
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. You can take in the corpses of the monsters, one way only, into the placate by touching the placate to the monster corpse while saying "collect" and if you found survivors out there, please ask them if they are willing to move in to the city and escort them here. Your rewards would be based on the achievements and spoils you collected. Is there anything else you don't understand?] (Catarina)

She shook her blushes off as if it was nothing and even waved at me with her bright smile. So, irresistible! I grabbed her waving smooth hand and got close to her and teased her,

She flustered and tried to break free only to failed as she was a mage and I was a warrior. She pointed her hand with her other hand and hinted at me to release her hand.

She began slapping my hand until I gave up.

Sighing as if resigning to her fate, she cleared her attire and started explaining.
[We adventurer guild got branches in almost everywhere. These branches usually got A rank in the least as its branch guild leader with a vice of B rank or on the same rank with the guild leader. Adventurers of other branches when first came to Doom Gate will get reregistered and retested if A rank or higher.
As i told you before, new adventurer will start from the F rank if he or she paid the register fee and if took the test you have taken in beginning and passed, then he or she will be starting his or her adventuring career from the E rank. The test you passed with flying colors is a special test which is for the trial rank and only given to any test passer the receptionist, in this case me, judged as potential top ranker.
Of course, this is not without nothing. The test givers usually are at least guild or have been acknowledged as an S rank like me. Passing the test would mean the test giver would be the guarantor and is responsible for the person he or she guaranteed until the guaranteed rank up or judged as capable.
Usually, it is up to trial rank B until now. But, I believed in my instinct and made you trial rank A like the past. So, don't make me lose face.] (Catarina)

She only an A rank despite her prowess. The adventurer guild surely got a decent fighting power. I grabbed her hand once again, her smooth white hand sure would make anyone felt it once got addicted like me.
[You sure like to be cute to your husband candidate. We had yet to have a lecture about the basic of the basic. Even, I am strong, I am still a newbie as an adventurer. I know nothing of the rules.]
She fumed as she slapped my hand to have me release her hand.

[You! *long sigh* Listen to the rules, I will not repeat it this time.
First about the taking quest, you go to one of the boards. To you right, we got one time quests and to your left, we got repeatable quests. Both boards have its requests all separated rank based.
One time quests will be deemed taken once torn from its board and any failure will get a penalty of half of its reward in noms. You need to report taking the quest here before doing the quest. If you torn the quest and able to find a person or a party to take it over from you then, you will be exempted from your penalty. But, doing repetition of these will demote your rank and on demotion we will give corresponding punishment. So, refrain from doing so as your action of doing that will affect me as well.
Next is the repeatable quests on your left. Those quest don't require the taker to torn the paper quest but, doing so will receive a penalty of thrice the reward in noms, so be careful. Just come here and say the quest code written on the paper.
For special quest like the one you will be doing, it will be vary and given this placate. Just give it some body fluid, like blood, saliva, sweat or tear also possible. Pressing your finger on the placate after registration also suffice as agreement to accept it. If you found this placate around then bring it back to one of the 4 adventurer guilds here or 5 if you got enough to be allowed to enter main headquarter.
Adventurer is ranked by based on his or her power basically which ranked from F to SSS. This rank will be judged with the quests you have taken and completed as well as your fame. A good fame could increase your rank by another rank. The same can happen with having a bad fame which would decrease your rank. Having too much infamy will decrease your rank even lower than rank F which would lead the guilds to hunt you. In other word, you are in the list of criminal of all guilds in Doom Gate. So, be careful.
We also discourage any infighting among adventurers or guild member of other guilds. Any dispute could be reported here and the guilds will be the arbitrators to clean the bad blood between you. I have to warn you a murder especially of the higher rank will guarantee your name to be listed in the list of criminal. The top rankers of corresponding guilds would even dispatched to hunt you down. murdering lower ranked one would also have its punishment, at least two drops in rank is guaranteed.
Last of all, which should be important to you. It's about wanted list. Other countries and kingdoms or anyone can issue this wanted list with sufficient reasons and proofs. Only S rank or higher can take part in this. This list also ignorable but, some of the rankers got high sense of justice to hunt them and some of them are interested in the bounty reward from the issuer. Each request has its own requirement. The adventurer guild, especially the ones in Doom Gate, doesn't care about it personally as we accept everyone here. Those who in the wanted list will be removed from the list as soon as he or she ranked up to rank A.
