Lijuan had a lump in her throat as her father drove the car. She wanted to thank them all for standing up for her in there, but she didn't know how to go about it, or if it was appropriate since they were her family and were actually supposed to stand up for her. Maybe it was best she waited until they were home and then she could thank them individually.
Jiaying's heart skipped a beat when her phone started ringing and she realized it was Yong. She was sitting between Rong and Lijuan so her eyes darted both ways to make sure neither of them was looking at her phone as she rejected his call. Why was he calling? What did he want to say?
Her phone rang out again and she rejected the call once again, making her mother turn to look at her, "Why don't you want to take your call?" She asked curiously.
