Lijuan couldn't help feeling very nervous as she applied the final touches of make-up on her face. She felt nervous for different reasons. Apart from the fact that this was the first time she as going out with her family for a party, while being on good terms with both her sisters, she also had a boyfriend now, and not just a casual boyfriend, but one whose grandfather's birthday party they were attending. They were going to this party with her and for her sake. She couldn't afford for anything to go wrong. This was the first party she was going to be attending without a guard beside her.
