"So... Why did you come back?" Shan asked Jinhai after the traitor Lijuan had left.
"You said you're leaving on Monday, didn't you? I should at least spend as much time as I can with you before you leave, since I don't know when or if I might see you again." Jinhai said with a shrug even though his heart was breaking as each word left his lips.
Shan had expected him to promise her he would visit her as much as he could and would be by her side for as long as she would let him, not such indifferent declaration, "I see." She said as she looked down at him.
"Aren't you hungry? Let's eat while we talk." He suggested and sat on the floor before opening the box of pizza, "You still have those cool drinks right?" He asked Shan who was still looking at him wearily.
"I'll get it." She said as she walked over to her refrigerator to take out two cans of beer. She sat down on the floor opposite him and watched while he devoured a piece of pizza.
