"Second young mistress, breakfast is served" The head butler said to Lijuan through the closed door.
"Alright. I'll be down in a moment." Lijuan said as she hurriedly tried to fit herself inside a gown.
It was monday morning and only a few minutes past 7. She would have preferred to still enjoy her sleep but it was the family's tradition to always eat breakfast and dinner together before they all went about their different businesses.
She took her phone with her as she went downstairs. Knowing her family, her father and sister would probably talk about business all through breakfast or Jiaying would want to raise unnecessary topics. She believed her phone would keep her busy during the long and boring breakfast.
"Do you always have to come down late?" Her father asked from where he was already seated when Lijuan joined them.
Lijuan quickly apologized and took her spot beside Jiaying, opposite Rong and their mother while Chairman Mei sat at the head of the table.
