Chapter 31 - Meeting

"Why are you mad at me?" Leo asked Mia. He was confused at the attitude she had been giving him since they left Chloe's place and had refused to speak with him.

He kept stealing glances at her while he drove and continued to ask her what he had done to deserve the silent treatment, but the silence persisted.

Having no other choice, he decided to focus on driving for now.

As soon as they returned to his place, she left the car and left him to enter the apartment, making him frown at her.

He followed quickly and found her sitting in the living room with her arms across her chest.

"Why are you mad at me?" He asked, sitting beside her. When he touched her arm, she hit it, which caused him to withdraw his hand. Then she turned her head to the side to glare at him.

"Firstly, you go there, embarrassing your sister and Jeremy. As if that wasn't enough, you spent hours arguing with Jeremy about who loves Chloe more. How do you think that made me feel?

"Oh no! You are jealous of my sister?" He asked in surprise.

"Oh really?" She raised an eyebrow at him.

"Come on, you know I love you." He smiled at her and reached out to touch her arm, but she slapped his hand away for the second time.

"Don't be like this Mia. I only have six more days here. You want us to spend it quarrelling?" He pouted at her.

She rolled her eyes. "Stop being dramatic. I am mad at you. Even if you have a day to spend here, it wouln't stop me from getting angry." She huffed.

"Come on, I'm sorry. You know I have to attend an online meeting soon, but I want to make sure we are good first."

"I don't care." She shrugged stubbornly.

"Then I won't attend the meeting."

"Fine by me!"

"Okay." He relaxed on the couch and folded his arms across his chest just like her.

"Even though this meeting is very important, I am going to ditch it since my girlfriend doesn't want to talk to me."

Mia almost laughed. "Trying to blackmail me emotionally, or playing the victim card is not going to work." She informed him bluntly.

"Really?" He asked, sitting up to look at her. "Since when did you become cold, Mia Lucas?"

"I have always been cold to everyone." She reminded him.

"Except for me. And I want it to remain that way." He smiled brightly at her.

His contagious smile almost made her smile back, but she held it in.

Why was she always soft when it came to him?

"How important is your meeting?" She asked.

"Very important. We are going to discuss the last scene together. It's the most important part of the movie. I cannot wait to be done with it." He sighed.

"It's crazy how we just sit for an hour watching a movie without considering all the effort put into it."

"Well, it happens. The worst part is that some people do not give constructive criticism. They simply drop a review like 'this movie is trash'."

Mia nodded. "People need to be appreciated for their effort. I hope this movie receives as much love as the dedication you all put into it."

He smiled gently at her. "Thanks, sweetheart. So... have you forgiven me now?" He grinned.

"Not yet! I will still punish you for it." She scowled at him.

"Ohhhh... punishment? I love the sound of that. Do as you please with me, my mistress." He winked at her and chewed his lip seductively.

She got flustered and stood up immediately, throwing one of the little cushion pillows at him and making him laugh loudly.

"Come on, didn't you want to punish me?" He teased.

"I didn't mean that! Stop being a bastard and go attend your meeting. You only have a few minutes left."

He grumbled when he looked at the clock, then he stood up.

"Fine! You are no fun. You won't leave, right?" He asked her.

She decided to play hard to get and shrugged."I will try."

"Don't leave. I will be sad if you do." He said dramatically, causing her to laugh.

"Just go! I'll be here and give Mira and James a call."

"Good. I love you." He leaned forward and kissed her cheek, then smiled at her.

She totally forgot she was mad at him and smiled back shyly.

He reluctantly left her for his room, where he fixed his appearance and turned on his laptop to connect to the conference call between some of the crew members. As the person in charge of cinematography, he was needed everywhere.

After they all said their greetings, the meeting started. Seeing his ex-girlfriend, Cherry, on-screen didn't give him the kind of troubled and angry reaction he usually felt whenever he saw her. Knowing she was now dating someone, and the fact that Mia was aware of everything, put him at ease.

Thirty minutes into the meeting, his door opened slowly and Mia walked in. When Mia saw how focused he was on the camera, a smirk formed on her face. He didn't know what was coming to him.

She tiptoed closer until he snapped his head to the side, eyes widening when he saw her with his face flushed. He stared at her for a few seconds before he snapped his head back to the screen.

She wore black lace lingerie and the white button shirt he had worn here yesterday, which he had dry cleaned this morning, but she left the buttons undone. Her hair, which had been tied up in a ponytail earlier, was loose now and looked like she had run her hands through it to make it a sexy mess.

"Y-Yes... I... am paying a-ttention." He gulped and tried to focus on the screen, but his eyes kept drifting back to her.

By now, his entire face was red, and he was shifting in his seat. To make it worse, she went to stand at the side of the table where his laptop was placed.

His eyes shot up in alarm and he gave her a 'What do you think you are doing?' look. In return, Mia winked at him and reached for the clasp of her bra with both of her hands behind her.
