Chapter 9 - His annoying behavior [3]

The entire day was tiring for Jung Chaerin, and by the time she reached home, she was barely able to move her limbs any longer. Throwing the bag in her hand on the table, Chaerin fell back on the couch.

While her body laid on the couch, the soft material comforted her, and closing her eyes, she was about to fall into sleep. But the aches that went through her muscles prevented her from doing so.

"Exhausted?" Ryu Seyoon questioned as he stood before her.

Opening her eyes slightly, she stared at him drowsily, not finding the strength in herself to answer the man before her.

"Take a warm bath before getting to bed. It will make you feel much more relaxed," Seyoon spoke out.

"Hmm," she answered.

In hopes that the bath will help her to relief her muscles, she sat up on the couch, and the headache that went through her head increased. Blinking her eyes multiple times, she fixed her vision, and pressing her palms on the couch, she stood up.

With her head feeling somewhat light, it was difficult for her to stabilize herself. Nonetheless, trying her best, she started to walk towards the stairs.

That's when, her knee bumped against the back of the couch, and that caused her to stumble backwards. Unable to balance herself, Chaerin was about to touch the couch for support when she felt someone grab on to her shoulder.

After that, someone swiftly picked her up, and as she was carried in a princess style, Chaerin's eyes widened— finding herself slightly more awake now.

Staring at Ryu Seyoon with astonishment, she questioned, "What are you doing?"

"I would not want you to fall and injure that beautiful face of yours. That would be quite pitiful," Seyoon spoke out, "Don't worry. I am a reliable person."

Jung Chaerin could not recall the last time she was carried in such a way, and to her, the situation felt quite awkward. Although the nonchalance was maintained on her face, the emotions within was quite different from that; even Chaerin was not able to decipher them.

"No, there is no need for that. I think I will be able to walk up some steps perfectly now," Chaerin stated— not on board with the idea of someone doing this for her.

"What are you being so shy for? Consider this to be my service for you paying me," he said, "if that makes you feel better."

A part of her wanted to accept help from him— the one that which desired to be comforted in this exhaustion— but that was not the stronger part. Pressing her hand against his chest, she pushed him back.

"Let me down; this is uncomfortable," she curtly stated— her gaze turning piercing all of a sudden.

Seeing how serious she was about this, Ryu Seyoon got the idea that it would not be proper for him to continue to push her further. Therefore, although reluctant, he set her down.

Her foot stumbled slightly, and holding on to her arm, he helped her stabilise herself. Once she managed to stand up properly, Chaerin pulled away her hand from him.

"Let me at least support you to your room," he stated, "The stairs are not safe for you."

This was not the first time Chaerin had been this exhausted and climbed the stairs. If she had managed this all those years, she did not consider it to be a problem now; she did not need to rely on Seyoon when she had been doing fine all those years.

Shaking her head, Chaerin walked towards the stairs. Standing behind her, Seyoon let out a sigh at how stubborn the woman before him was. Surprisingly, he found that side of hers to be quite endearing.

Even if she was able to do it, climbing up the stairs by dragging her legs was not a easy task for her. After climbing couple of steps, she found herself losing her footing, and while she was almost about to fall down, she heard a shout.

"Be careful."

This time she did not need his help to stabilize herself. Grabbing on to the railings on the stairs, she supported herself and walked through the staircase.

'You are fine on your anyone. You need someone else to survive; no, you don't deserve someone else.'

With various types of thoughts consuming her mind, she walked towards her bedroom, and while Seyoon stared at her back, he found a small smile forming upon his lips.

Running his hand through his hair, he stated, "Cute."

Even if there were many more words he could use to describe, this was one specific word that popped up in his mind mostly. To him, she resembled a cat, and a desire to get the cat to earn up to him bloomed within him.
