The car quickly arrived at the venue for the fundraiser. which as expected was packed with a lot of reporters.
She opened the car door and was greeted by a lot of camera flashes and reporters asking for her name. It only took a second for Bai Zhenzhen to adjust her mood to it all then and she was back to her red carpet mood.
She got down from the car with a bright smile and began walking forward gracefully towards the door. Before entering the venue she presented her invitation to the Gallary security and after getting cleared she walked right in.
The charity arts Exhibition was held at one of the city's major Art gallary. The Exhibition was hosted by the Vaughn family to raise money for the treatment of underprivileged children with cancer and other terminal illnesses.
The event was held annually and always attracted a huge number of patrons that donated to the cause. Art works and paintings were exhibited and sold to patrons and other guests. After which the proceeds were used to pay for over a thousand sick children's treatment.
Various paintings and other art pieces which had been donated specifically for the event had been placed around the room. A few of the Guest could already been seen browsing through the art pieces on display while the rest were conversing between themselves.
She was a few minutes late so as soon as she got in, Bai Zhenzhen began to browse the room looking around for a familiar face. When a painting caught her eye, it was an abstract painting with exquisite brushwork and a beautiful combination of colours and shapes.
She paused her steps and turned around to admire the painting. She stood like that for a while soaking in the artist message.
"It's beautiful isn't it" A male voice said drawing her away from her painting trance.
"Oh_!
she said startled, she had been so engrossed in the painting that she wasn't attentive of her environment.
The voice however did seem familiar so it couldn't be anyone she knew. she gently turned to her right to see who it was her eyebrows knitted gently.
"oh my did I startle you, sorry for that I thought you'd been aware of my presence" the tall blonde blue eyed foreigner standing by her right said.
"no need for that it's my bad for not being attentive" Bai Zhenzhen replied quickly smiling and waving her hands slightly.
"Even though I shouldn't have come up so suddenly. it just that you had been standing here for sometime, You seemed hocked. I wanted to get your opinion about this piece"
"I was.. wasn't I" she said feeling self righteous for a minute.
"Yes, I have been browsing through for sometime now and you are the only person to spent this long on this painting. The rest of the guest just walked by it, without sparing it a single glace" the blonde foreigner said.
"Really? wow I have to say that I am surprised. The painting is really beautiful. You can really feel the artist's emotions with euch brush stroke" She said turning back to the painting.
"Yes your right about that, the artist put a lot of emotion into this work. One can easily tell that, it came from His heart. it's meaning is really deep you see" the blonde foreigner said smiling slightly.
"Yes it's dark and raw. the artist wasn't shy in delivering the message to we the audience it's a really beautiful piece" Bai Zhenzhen said her lips curving into a smile.
"Yes too bad it's not for sale" The blonde stranger said.
"What really?! She said shocked
"Yes it was painted by an anonymous painter and donated to the Gallary for public viewing hence why it's not getting that much attention. Everyone prefer to go for known artists which works well for the artist I guess since it isn't up for sale"
"You seem to know a lot about this" She said looking up at him.
"You can say that, it's actually a funny story. You see I like everyone here is an art enthusiast.
However I actually found out about this because I myself was interested in this work so I spoke with the curator about purchasing the work. She was the one that delivered the bad news to me" the blonde foreigner said with a faint smiling.
"that explains it" she said chuckling silently, which soon turned into a dry cough.
"You seem famished why don't I get you a something to drink" The blonde stranger said.
"Ugh no need for that I am actually going over to the refreshment table right now" Bai Zhenzhen said discouraging him
"then why don't I walk you there" He replied
"No need for that t a_"
"Excuse me Mr Vaughn, a guest is asking to speak with you about a donation" A female staff from the gallery said coming up this the blonde haired foreigner/ host of the event.
"You must have something to do Mr Vaughn I won't keep you anymore" Bai Zhenzhen said quickly.
"OOh Okay I will talk to you later" He replied and after getting a positive response he walked away with the staff members.
When they were further away Bai Zhenzhen turned around and walked over to the refreshment table. She had poured herself a glass of juice when she heard her name called from behind. She turned around to see Director Ma walking forward and joining her at the refreshment table.
"Oh Teacher Ma, hello. I have been looking all out for you since I arrived" Bai Zhenzhen said cheerfully.
"Oh sorry I got held up by the investors. How are you doing Zhenzhen" Director Ma replied picking up a glass of wine.
"am good Director and you"
"Good, I honestly didn't expect to see you here what with everything going on with the Ouyang Family" Director Ma said watching her carefully.
"Everything going on with the Ouyang Family" she replied gently.
"Yes with your father-in-law"s health condition, now I understand why you seemed distracted these last few days. If you would like a short leave I can give you one. Your nearly done with your scenes plus thankfully we are way ahead of schedule so that won't be a problem" Director Ma said concerned.
"Umm please if I may ask, when did you find out about this* Bai Zhenzhen asked gently.
"Just this morning the news broke late last night. why do you ask" Director Ma replied.
"Late last night, I'm so sorry Director but I have to get going" she said, picked up her clutch from the table and hurried our of the Gallary.
As soon as she got out she called up her car and headed back to the hotel still shocked speechless on what she had just discovered
Why would Zhou Jianyu keep something like this away from her.
They were a team, so I he had a problem they had to face it together. While the driver drove back to her hotel she began dialing Zhou Jianyu's number but it kept ringing continuously.
