Bai Zhenzhen got out of the bathroom and walked over to the phone while drying her hair with a towel to order dinner when there was a knock on the door.
"Is that you Da Xia" she said walking over to the door.
She got to the door and turning the door knob pulled it open.
"Zhenzhen" Zhou Jianyu said softly.
"What are you doing here" Bai Zhenzhen said surprised. This was unexpected she wasn't expecting him to find out her hotel room. At least not this quick she avoided informing her manager of her present accomodations just so that she could avoid this.
"May I come in, we really shouldn't be doing this in the hallway" Zhou Jianyu said softly.
"Come in" she turned to the side to let him pass. As soon as he was inside she shut the door and walked towards the room couch wanting to keep a distance from him.
He had really lost weight, his well groomed hair looked longer than it was a month ago. Which was surprising considering how attentive he was to his appearance.
That was good at least he suffered as much as she did. Seeing him so unkept was a consolation to her. He had ripped heart away and stumped on it. He didn't deserve even a little freedom.
"It's been a while" He said walking closer.
"Stay back I really don't want you to come any closer" she said taking a step back.
"Okay that's fine I can do that" He took a step back and asked "How are you?
"Is that why your here because big it was you could have just sent over an Email like you usually do. There was No need to come here an disturb my peace" She said looking away.
"of I did who you have answered me, you have been ignoringy all my Emails" He said putting his hands in his pockets and bowing down his head.
"I wonder why" she replied sacastic
"I guess I deserve that" He said
"and much more" She replied
"and much more but you left before I could explain everything" He said.
"oh so it's my fault that you with held such an important information as a past marriage from me your wife. Tell me Jianyu is that what you are trying to say" she said angry. why did she let him come in she should have shut the door on his face.
"No no that's not what I mean wait Zhenzhen lets start this again" He said finally seeing the error in his words. That wasn't what he was going for, he has to clean up his mess before it ruined the good thing he had working out for him.
"Well I am waiting I don't have much time I just came back from the set I need to eat dinner and get some rest" She said quickly.
"I promise I won't keep you waiting not anymore. Zhenzhen am so sorry for keeping this from you. it was very wrong of me to do that I should have been more forthcoming about my past" He said.
"You really should you have no idea how embarrassed I was hearing that like everyone else for the first time" Bai Zhenzhen said sitting on the couch.
"I am so sorry for that" he replied.
"Why did you do that. You had a lot of chances to tell me why didn't you ever do? She asked
"I was scared to do that and hurt your feeling. I was there for most of your firsts but you missed one of my most important First" he said.
"I don't care that you were previously married I only care that you never told me. You said that you never wished to hurt me and yet you did.
You always keep things close to your heart and never let me in this is what happens when you aren't being completely honest with me.
I asked you a number of times about your relationship with her and you always replied that you were just childhood friends" She said bitterly.
"I was wrong okay, I messed up. I should have been honest with you. I accept that and I promise to not keep anything away from you again. Just give me another chance, I will make it up to you" He said.
"How can I be sure that you won't try to save me from hurt and keep another secret from me or that you aren't still keeping something from me" She said.
"You can trust me never to go back on my words no matter what I will always be straight with you. As for my past I will tell you everything about that with nothing kept out" He replied.
"Hold on let me order dinner if we are going to do this then I need to eat" She said.
"Okay you do that" He replied.
Bai Zhenzhen stood and walked over to the bed side table to make her call. Twenty minutes later dinner was delivered.
After placing both plates and the refreshments on the table she sat and they began to eat. when they were done she cleared up the table and put aside their plates.
After the dishes where taken out by room service. She sat opposite Zhou Jianyu and he began to talk about his past.
"Su Lixue is he younger sister of my deceased childhood friend Su Xiaosi. Su Xiaosii, Ye Mingzhe and I were quite close and we all spent time in euch other's house. We pretty spent majority of our school days together and Su Lixue sometimes came over with him.
After watching her grow up my mum got quite fond on her and encouraged us to get together. After high school I got a scholarship to sturdy abroad so I did meet everyone often as we were in different countries.
My mother always encourage me to get date Su Lixue but I never took her seriously until Su Xinyi had an accident and died by then I had already started working in an investment firm in the states. A few months later Su Lixue go accepted into my alma mater. With Su Xinyi left it was up to me to watch out for me and help her get settled.
Soon we fell in love be and two years later we got married. We had only married for a year when we found out that she was pregnant. Back then I just started my career money was tight and I had to take a few more shifts to meet up so I was hardly around but everything was ok Su Lixue had already graduated and was also working. two months later Su Lixue lost the baby and that's when our relationship became much strained.
A year later I returned back to B city and started Phoenix entertainment, Su Lixue was never happy with the move so most of the time we fought about little thing but soon our relationship improved or at least I thought it did until one day I got home from work and found the apartment empty and divorce papers waiting for me.
I called her on the phone trying to work things out when I discovered that she had ran off to America with Ye Mingzhe. they had been having an affair for years. The child she miscarried might not even be mine since She had been sleeping with Ye Mingzhe even then.
Yes Mingzhe had move to the states for business the same year we got married so he was our only friend in the states.
I waited for a month for her to come back home then signed the divorce papers and sent it back to her lawyers" he said.
"If that was how it was the why was mother still in good terms with her after all she did" Bai Zhenzhen said.
"I didn't want to hurt my mother's feelings so I told her we had a misunderstanding. it wasn't until your accident at the charity fundraiser that she found out otherwise" He said.
"Why didn't you just tell me all this? She asked
"I didn't want to chase you away most women would likes a man with this much baggage from my father's abandonment to this it would have been too much for anyone to handle"He replied.
"What gave you the right to make that decision for me you should have let me be the judge of what I can and cannot handle. Which family does have any dark history who doesn't have any baggage I am not exactly baggage free am I. My grandparents refused to acknowledge Bai Liu and my existence all because my father wasn't from a wealthy family. I wasn't in speaking terms with my family during my first year in the University all because I deferred from family tradition and majored in performance art instead of Medicine after being accepted into S city medical school. You should have been honest with me not keep it from me just so you could save my precious feelings
Jianyu I felt so insulted find this out for Su Lixue of all people" she said.
"I am so sorry about that Zhenzhen I promise to never do this again" He said
"Sorry doesn't cut it you had better never repeat this or I am gone you hear me Jianyu gone. The only reason I am giving you another chance is because I don't just want to end this without trying. It's late please leave we can talk tomorrow" she said drained both physically and emotionally.
"Okay we will see tomorrow, can we meet up for lunch my treat" He stood about to leave.
"Okay I will let you know when I am free" she replied.
"I will be waiting see you tomorrow sleep well, good night" He said and left the room.
