Chapter 68. The seventh hero (3)

"A book…"

When Ian found the box, he thought that there would be some sort of artifact or a treasure in it.

He would have been content with even a map of a hidden dungeon or something.

But when he finally opened the box, there was something unexpected in it.

It was a book.

It was not unusual for him to find a book in the public library but it was certainly unusual that there would be a book hidden in the water box.

Ian felt that the book was not ordinary.

The title of the book was fairly long but it was enough to interest Ian to read it.

He wanted to see whether the book was ordinary or not. That's why he sat down and started to read it.

'Seven heroes? Weren't there only six heroes?'

Six heroes

It was a fairly popular story of six heroes saving the continent from the devil king. Bards would often narrate this story in small towns and villages.

Ian knows about it because the topic of the six heroes was also popular with the players.

It was because there were many rumours that the six heroes all have a hidden class and a player can also acquire the class one of the six heroes.

There was even a player who was rumoured to have the class of the sage hero.

"I thought there were only six heroes. It looks like there's something more to this story."

Ian muttered as he continued reading the book.

The book was not much thick but the writing was well summarized, and there were also illustrations.

Ian flipped the page as he continued reading the book.

He wondered why there was no mention of the seventh hero when he was so strong. Why was he hidden from the world?

Those questions appeared in his mind and the only way to know the answer was through reading.

'Did the seventh hero got betrayed or something?'

That was the most likely scenario, but even if he got betrayed, it didn't make sense for the seventh hero to not exist in the story of the heroes.

It was like someone had hid his existence from the world.

"That's why, no one knows the seventh hero."

Ian muttered as he flipped to the last page.

The Church of light world of course try to erase all the traces of a person who was connected to Baal.

That's why there were only six heroes, not seven.

The seventh hero was considered a heretic and he was even imprisoned for life. No matter how strong he was, he can't go against the Church of light.

Ian closed the book after reading through it. At the same time, he felt sorry for the seventh hero.

The seventh hero saved the world but in the end, he was considered a heretic, just because of a single person's jealousy.

As he was frowning, several system messages appeared before him.

'A special reward.'

As Ian was looking dazzlingly at those messages, something strange happened.

The book in front of him suddenly started to burn. It incinerated into ashes in an instant and a square shaped object appeared on top of those ashes.

"What's going on…?"

Ian was still confused when another strange thing happened.

The mysterious slate which he had gotten from Lizardmen colony suddenly appeared in his hand.

It even started glowing.

'What? Can it be?'

Ian suddenly remembered the information he had read on the mysterious slate.

"It has three pieces and it will start to glow if it comes across another piece."

Ian muttered that and picked up the square shaped object. The object was also glowing and Ian noticed that there were also some enigmatic engravings on it.

It was certainly the second part of the mysterious slate.

'Have I used all my luck today?'

Ian thought that but a smile was well apparent on his face.

He had thought about searching for the other pieces of the mysterious slate but he didn't know where to find them.

But he had found the second piece of the mysterious slate unexpectedly.

His luck can't be better.

While thinking that, Ian moved both the pieces of the slate together and they soon merged with each other.

The glowing ended and Ian opened the information window.

* * *

A golden slate inscribed with some enigmatic engravings. One can feel some sort of power coming from it. The slate is actually a way to get one of the hidden classes but one has to find the remaining parts of it.

The slate has a connection with the Ancient ruins.

*There are a total of 3 slates like this and these slates will start to glow if they come across each other.

* * *

"Ancient ruins!"

Ian muttered after reading the added information on the mysterious slate.

Although there was not much information added in the description, it at least gave Ian a destination.

At the same time, Ian thought about that book that had incinerated into ashes.

He had found the second piece of the mysterious slate from there and the book was about the seventh hero.

This all led to one conclusion.

'Are these slates related to the class of the seventh hero?'

The mysterious slate was the way to get a hidden class and all the seven heroes have some sort of hidden class.

It was most likely that Ian would be able to get the class of the seventh hero.

Thinking all this, Ian had only one thought.

'Jackpot!!'

The seven heroes have classes that were able to defeat the devil Baal and the seventh hero was even the strongest out of them.

Ian can't even think about what type of class the seventh prince would have.

'It must be a combat based class.'

Ian was looking for a combat based class and the seventh hero most likely had one of the strongest combat based classes.

If Ian can acquire it, then he would surely rise above all players.

Then, many companies would approach him for sponsoring deals. He would be rich in no time.

Thinking of the bright future, Ian could not help but laugh.
