It wasn't that Shiba disliked kind people. He was usually kind as well, but one needed to know when being kind when not.
It would be one thing if the one the second Queen was facing were her own son. No one would blame her for not being able to be serious.
However, there wasn't too much relationship between her and Shiba. Although she felt grateful to Shiba, what Shiba wanted was a good battle, and the best way to show that she was grateful was to give him a good battle.
However, she couldn't fight seriously against anyone that had helped his son in such a critical moment as being able to reach Rank 1 before sixteen.
Sadly, being kind was part of one's personality, and that wasn't easy to change. However, those too kind would end suffering too much at the hands of others.
It was important knowing to differentiate when being kind and when one shouldn't be.
