Chereads / LWS: Liye's Legacy / Chapter 43 - Leaving Border Town

Chapter 43 - Leaving Border Town

"Don't worry. We aren't so narrow-minded."

Eini waved her hand while speaking. She didn't care in the slightest about how that man acted.

"We were planning to leave soon, so we may just go to that academy."

Shiba felt that it was a great chance for him, so he didn't plan to miss it.

"That will be the best for you. It is sad that you will leave, but you shouldn't miss that chance."

The Lord of the town would go to that academy if he had the chance. He was considered mighty only in places like Border Town, but he was quite weak in the country.

However, for someone like him, there was no way to enroll in an academy without a recommendation, and no one would recommend him because academies liked to have students since they were young.

Although his age wasn't that old for his Rank, he was far past the age an academy would like.

"Right, that sounds interesting. If it is too boring, we can just leave it later. Shiba, let's go. There is no need to remain here anymore."

The Lord of the town almost fainted when he heard how lowly Eini rated the academy, but he didn't dare to argue.

"Wait. We will leave, but let's take it with calm. There is no need to leave immediately."

Although Shiba wasn't close to anyone who wasn't in that room, he still wanted to bid farewell to acquaintances.

"True. Let's leave tomorrow at dawn."

Eini didn't plan to bid farewell to anyone, but she didn't mind waiting if Shiba wanted to wait a bit.

However, she was tired of Border Town, so she was expecting the travel to the academy more than the academy itself.

For Eini, an academy wasn't really needed, but since Shiba's master was in the process of reincarnation, it would be great if someone assisted him in reaching Rank 1.

After that, he wouldn't really need one either, but being in an academy gave some background, so he didn't dislike the idea. At least his previous owners wouldn't be able to harm him directly if he became a student of that academy.

A Rank 8 was backing the academy, so just for that person's honor, it was difficult for someone to attack the students. Even other powers with similar or superior strength would hesitate.

After all, although the Rank 8 expert didn't mind at all about the wellbeing of the students, he would feel that someone was slapping his face if they were killed knowing that they belonged to his grandson's academy.

Of course, once that Rank 8 expert perished, that protection would be gone, but he was working hard so that the other powerful experts of the country took good care of his grandson, which would also include the academy. However, the deterrence effect wouldn't be the same.

"Then, farewell. We will leave tomorrow at dawn. Thank you for all your help until now."

Shiba bowed respectfully to the Lord of the town before leaving the room, followed by Eini, who didn't care at all about the Lord of the town.

"Farwell. I expect that you two became successful and became powerful experts someday."

The Lord of the town knew Shiba's personality. If he became an expert, there was no way he wouldn't go to help Border Town if trouble happened.

The rest of the day, Shiba went to buy things that he guessed could be needed for a long journey and informed everyone that he was leaving.

Given how famous he was, the information was spread quite quickly. It was shocking that the best hunting team in the town would leave so quickly.

However, it was obvious that a place like Border Town was too small for them.

The next day at dawn, Shiba left his house after checking that he didn't leave anything inside. Eini had already been waiting in front of his door for half an hour.

"You are too slow! Let's go. Let's go."

It wasn't that Shiba was slow, but that Eini was really expecting the travel, so she woke up far earlier than she should.

"Alright."

Shiba was already used to Eini's personality. She was the kind of girl who liked to do whatever she wanted to do when she thought about it.

He liked that since it made everything more interesting than when he was alone.

"You should be more energic! I have traveled to come here before, but traveling alone is way too boring, now we are together, so it should be fun!"

Eini hugged Shiba while speaking. She had been having a lot of fun since she started working with Shiba, that she acted the same way she did back them with her sister.

They were so close that sometimes Lina felt like showing herself and tell her to show a bit more restraint, but she didn't want to show unless it was unavoidable.

On the other hand, Shiba and Eini were completely ignorant about human relationships when it came to friendship, so they felt that they were acting normal.

Lina knew that neither of them had any second intentions, so she was able to restrain herself.

If Shiba were a pervert trying to woo her sister, she would have separated them forcefully because her family's rules were very strict regarding that matter, and not even Lina was allowed to have a romantic relationship due to being too weak.

However, Shiba was so pure-hearted regarding that topic, that Lina couldn't even think about him breaking the rules due to being too close to Eini.

Moreover, it was always Eini who went jumping to hug him, so she was the one at fault, but that was just how she expressed that she was happy.

"I hope that those two don't do anything weirder while traveling. We missed teaching Eini some common sense regarding friendship..."

Shiba was raised as a slave, so it was normal that he lacked in that area, but Eini's problem was that since people in her situation didn't make friends with locals, it was considered a waste of time teaching her those things since she could learn them latter after having become strong.

It was unexpected that someone like Shiba would appear, but the situation was someone with Liye's background gave a Fake Origin Path to a person of those weak planets was just too strange.

Usually, a Law God wouldn't even accept a mere mortal as a disciple unless they were related, but rare exceptions like Liye existed.

While Lina was worrying about their lack of common sense, Shiba and Eini left the town.

Shiba looked back once with some nostalgia, but Eini grabbed his arm to make him continue forward.

They were flying, so Shiba was quite easy to drag forward.

The plan was flying as long as they could since it was the fastest and safest unless there were flying beasts.

Eini wanted some fun, but they would still need to walk a lot since they couldn't fly all the way, so she didn't try to convince Shiba to go to the academy walking.

Given the terrain, without flying, it was a wonder if Shiba would be already sixteen when they reached the academy. Eini knew the country's layout perfectly, and some areas weren't easy to travel by walk.

On the other hand, there were areas where flying was more dangerous.

Due to those difficulties on the terrain, the area of Border Town was so isolated from the rest of the country. Those capable of traversing those areas really didn't have too much interest in such a barren area.

On Border Town, only the Lord of the Town had the capability to safely travel to the city where the academy was located.

For those who weren't even Rank 1, it would depend a lot on luck unless they could fly to ignore some areas that were too dangerous to cross normally.

Shiba was ignorant of the dangers, but since Eini knew them very well, he let her led the way. There was no way he could memorize everything on a single night, even if Eini explained it to him.

"Now, we will enter an area you haven't been to. Be careful and follow my instructions."

They had been hunting near the town, so they knew very well that area, but they had already reached the limits.

Past that area, there were some Rank 1 beasts.

There was a safe route by only walking that only had Rank 1 beasts at the strongest, which was the route almost everyone used, but it was quite long.

The route Eini had chosen was far more direct, but there were even Rank 5 beasts there. However, none of those could fly, nor had long-range attacks, so they weren't a problem.

It wasn't the most direct route like the one that the Rank 8 expert followed, but they wouldn't need years of travel at least like with the common route.

By walking, it could take about three years with their speed, and flying would at most cut it to two years using that route.

However, Eini was confident in just needing several months using the one she designed since she already had experienced traveling through that country.
