A green dragon was standing in the center of the throne room. The beast was almost two times my size. Its eyes sharpened as it looked at me.
"Kill him, your highness? Can't you do it yourself?" The dragon said in mocking confusion.
"Maybe, but I also want to test your power," the queen replied.
The green dragon, Emreilda, walked to me until we stood only a few meters apart.
"Very well then," Emreilda said as she lifted her right arm. Alarmed, I dodged to the left to avoid her swing. Her attack lacked warning or hesitation. I was too badly injured to think about fighting another dragon, especially if it was two times my size. I had to get out fast, but Emreilda's enormity was between me and the doorway.
I slashed brazenly at her face, but her scales rejected my claws as if they were feathers. I knew I couldn't touch her, but I had to try; my life was on the line.
"Poor little thing," Emreilda grinned as wisps of green gas escaped from the edges of her mouth. I dodged another claw and ended up on her right. Before I had a chance to retaliate, Emreilda spewed the gas at me. The suffocating cloud stung my open wounds and left me breathless. I held my breath as I ran behind her. In the center of the room, the grotesque behemoth between me and the queen, I saw my chance to escape.
"Hilda! Keep him still, I can't hit him," Emreilda yelled. The queen responded by removing the barrier around herself and walking towards the dragon. A glass wall appeared to block my retreat, and Emreilda pounced towards me. Her massive body slammed into mine, cracking the magic glass to my rear. Winded by the impact, I desperately pushed away from the green dragon to no avail.
My vision was fading into black. I knew nothing I could do would save me. Luckily, Meridith softened the blow, which didn't damage my heart too severely. I would be dying soon anyway. Before I passed out, I saw a new mass come into the room from the hole Emreilda made in the roof. The room became a dazzling red.

I opened my eyes only to be welcomed by darkness. I was in an empty space, standing on an invisible floor. Darkness expanded in every direction. I looked down to see my human body, a sight I thought I would never see again. Albeit being naked, afraid, and dumbfounded, I found new hope in the chance of returning to my old existence. My hope vanished when I heard someone speak behind me.
"Hello Magnus," a supposedly young female greeted. I turned around to see the girl from the alleyway, Muerta. I was flabbergasted, I knew this wasn't a dream but I also couldn't comprehend what was happening.
"Am I dead?" I asked as I looked her up and down to see her sitting on nothing with one leg over the other.
"Wow, after all this time you really are the same stupid Magnus I met in the alleyway. To leave me here for ten years just to get trapped in the exact same place, how fitting of you," Muerta retorted and stood up. She walked over to me and stared up at me, she was a foot and a half shorter so she had to look nearly straight up.
"You aren't dead dimwit, you just put yourself inside of your soul to prevent yourself from death," Muerta said and floated back to her imaginary chair to sit down. I pondered what I heard and compared it with what just happened. I couldn't make up a situation where my body wasn't already dead.
"That doesn't make sense, I died. How could I be preserving myself," I asked confusedly.
"I don't know I'm not god, oh wait I am. It's because you are special Maggy, You have had a god inside you long enough so that she is absorbed into you. If you die then your soul will go to hell and I go with it, so I just have to make sure you don't die. Easy enough for a god of death." She said as if it was obvious.
"Wait wait wait, so let me get this straight. You are a god, and I somehow trapped you inside of me when you killed me? So how does this correlate with me being a dragon, and how did I trap you if you killed me?" I asked yet again.
"Yep pretty much, the dragon part was kinda random. Since I killed you and didn't absorb your soul it had no place. So Oprah, this galaxies god of fate, just threw you into a vessel with no soul." She responded, surprisingly helpful.
"Hmm, ok that makes sense, but why did this dragon have no soul?" I asked.
"Well because it's original soul knew it was ashen and decided to go straight to hell instead of living in that body. Also, you should figure out how to materialize some clothes because I mean, you are in a god's presence," Muerta added on.
"I have one final question Muerta, am I immortal?" I said whilst trying to ignore the fact I was naked.
"No Maggy you arent Immortal, the only reason you could live with my powers was because you didn't die immediately. Someone saved you before you died and gave me a few hours to keep you outa hell. Once you wake up you will return to your body." Muerta informed seriously.
"One last thing Maggy. Because I am a god of death, I don't use magic, I use death energy. Any magic I come into contact with disappears. Because you absorbed me, you have that principle. While you can't use magic, all magic around you disappears. It takes around five minutes for it to happen but you will learn to control it soon enough. The stronger you get the more you will have to kill. If you don't resupply your death energy regularly we will die."
"Ah, so that is what happened with Meridith. It all makes sense now," I said, getting the mystery off of my chest.
"Well, it looks like your time here is over. I'll see you next time Maggy." Muerta said with a wink in the last part.
"See ya later Muerta, I'm still mad you killed m, I guess being stuck in here is just karma," I said as my eyes closed on their own.
When my eyes opened I saw a three-legged red dragon watching over me. When it saw me open my eyes, its snout curled into a grin.
