Chapter 73 - Cronos is here

"We'll You know about the invaders and I also have to kill mutated animals for a mission so Let's go around for a while we can always come back to rest a bit," Jason said as they continued walking towards his room.

"Mutated beasts hun! This mission must again be by that mysterious person helping you from the background." Kim said with a sly smile on her face.

"Well yeah, kind of…" Jason said with a wry smile on his face. He knew that they were all curious about the mysterious person behind him but he can't explain the system to them so the mysterious person card is the best way out.

"Oh, and I have been thinking of setting up our own base near an electrical power station either solar or wind that is near a water body so that our basic necessities are filled. It will not be long before the electrical power grids fail without no one handling them. I hope the government handled the nuclear power plants timely otherwise it would be devastating."

Jason said in a worried tone as he knew that resources like electricity, water and food will soon become scarce and it would be good to secure them before that happens.

"Yeah we did discuss that previously, didn't you download the whole map of the country on your tablet, you can use that to search such a place," Arya said.

They had reached the room and Kim immediately jumped on a bed and lay down in a spread form as if trying to get as comfortable as possible.

"Yeah, so how about we leave tomorrow early in the morning towards the nearest village. Where is the truck parked?" Jason asked as he had not seen the truck near their housing.

"The truck in parked in the garage near the border of the base." Kim Arya said as she too moved to lay down a bit on the other bed.

Ding! Your helper is ready

A notification came in his mind indicating that Cronos's creation was completed.

Jason became excited as he imagined how Cronos would look in real life, although he was the one to design Cronos, he was still curious about it.

"Well, you three rest a bit I'll walk around a bit and work this unworked body of mine," Jason said to them with a slight simile as he moved out of the room.

Sounds of agreements came from Kim and Arya, Aiden wanted to follow him, but she seemed to sense that he wanted to go alone so she let it go.

Jason walked briskly to a secluded corner and opened the notification.

Do you want to bring the helper out?

A system prompt asked him and Jason looked around again to see if someone was near, finding no on he confirmed the notification.

A soft flash of silverish light flashed and Cronos appeared in front of him startling him with his impressive height and intimidating face. He had designed Cronos to be quite intimidating and he had done a damn good job at it. Cronos had a strict no-nonsense vibe to him and combined with his well-built body he looked quite impressive.

"Cronos your service Sir!" Cronos gave him a military-type salute as he stomped his right foot on the ground completing a full military salute.

"Uhm Ivy… why is Cronos treating me like a Military general?" Jason asked in a confused voice.

"Each system helper has a unique personality, and they are basically revived dead souls that the system stored previously and it randomly chooses one while creating a helper. It is their own choice to call you either sir or boss, president or master or emperor any thing that to them is their chosen authority of choice."

"Well, that's interesting …." Jason said with a wry smile on his face. The system could revive dead souls, he was not even surprised on listening to that. He had become numb to the system's powers.

"At ease Cronos. "On seeing that Cronos had kept his saluting position while looking straight at him Jason answered him with a smile.

Jason wanted to ask him to call him Jason instead of sir at least Sir was better than being called master or emperor.

"Can you call me by my name instead of Sir?" Jason asked in a hopeful voice.

"Calling you anything other than sir would not be proper, sir," Cronos replied in a stiff tone.

"How about you call me by my name in public and you can call me sir when we are alone."

"If that is what you want then I can only comply, sir" Cronos replied in the same stiff tone.

"So tell me more about yourself," Jason asked with a smile. He was going to be together with him from now on and they might fight life and death battles together so knowing him better was a good choice.

"I don't remember anything from my previous life sir, I only remember my skills and how to use them. I'm good at controlling mana and my abilities lie with controlling the earth element." Cronos replied with the same stiff no-nonsense look on his face.

"How about you demonstrate your abilities a bit." Jason was curious about the extent of his abilities.

"As you wish sir," Cronos replied as he did a grabbing action with his right hand and astonishingly the ground below them wiggled a bit and a large glob of mud/soil levitated from there and rose up towards his hand. The ball of mud soon transformed into a throwing spear, which looked quite sharp and sturdy to made out of the mud.

Cronos made a flicking motion with his hand and.

*Swish

The throwing Spear made of mud flew out from his hand towards a wall made of concrete at blazing fast speed.

*Bang

The impact almost sounded as if the spear was not made from mud but metal.

Jason's eyes widened as he looked at the now wide hole in the concrete wall. The hole was thrice the size of the spear and the spear had almost demolished that side of the wall. Jason could not imagine what such an attack would do to the human body.

"That was one of my weakest attacks, Sir, all the other attacks might disrupt our surroundings as they have area damage."

Jason could not help but feel amazed.
