Chereads / A Path of Bone and Poison / Chapter 131 - Dragon Knight

Chapter 131 - Dragon Knight

When I reappeared outside of the dungeon I was assaulted by a stream of messages from the system.

1. Unique class Dragon Knight

2. 1,000,000 coins for shop

3. 50 gold coins

4. Growth type weapon [Bastard Sword of Arcane Brilliance]

[Bastard Sword of Arcane Brilliance]

A sword that is designed to be used with the arcane weaponry techniques. The sword is a physical manifestation of arcane energy, which channels the users arcane weaponry techniques (regardless of original form). The damage of this weapon includes not only the damage from the users technique, but also includes their strength value.

I couldn't help but be surprised by the choice of weaponry the dungeon had given me. It was true that based on my abilities the weapon would be a good fit. I would be able to use it with one hand or two, depending on the situation I was in. And because of the training I had recieved in the tower my strength was no longer at 10. As I thought this I pulled up my status.

The first thing I noticed was that my values had changed, they were no longer quantified by a number, rather a letter. All of them but intelligence were grade C, while my intelligence was a B- and my Charisma and A. I did not know what these letters represented, but I instinctively knew that my intelligence was much higher than my other stats and my charisma was even higher than that.

The second thing I noticed was my Hp and Mp. The numbers were much lower than they had been in the past, but I did not feel as if the value has actually went down. If anything I felt they were much higher than they were before. I could only assume that both of these changes were due to the [Elite] title next to my name.

Finally I noticed my race. It was pretty much what I had already gathered. The racial ability was similar to what I had thought as well.

[Draconic Heritage]

Your blood runs with the essence of your Draconic ancestors. This grants you 20% damage resistance from the scales that cover your body, as well as claws that can be used as weapons.

With my internal inspection complete I turned my eyes to the world outside. I was shocked by the scene I was witnessing. The familiar image of the dungeon entrance had completely changed. The once majestic view had been replaced with a world in ruins. The stone walls had been infested with vines, and I could hear the sounds of wild life surrounding me.

The sound stood out more than the images. Skyhigh city was literally a city in the sky. There should have been no wildlife capable of reaching this far into the sky, with flying creatures being the only exception. But the sounds that I heard were most definitely not Birds. I could hear the chirping of insects, and scuttling around of small animals.

When I examined the scene with my other senses I found that the once rich earth essence in the air had changed. It was now filled with essence of wood and water, though neither of them was as strong as the earth presence that was still there.

The environment had changed a lot. As I looked around more I came to realize the ground under my feet was no longer even, and had been cracked and destroyed in several places. Even the buildings had become ruins.

I walked out the area surrounding the dungeon. The city Itself had become ruins, and it did not take long for me to realize that Skyhigh city was no longer in the sky. At some point the city had crash landed, but strangely there was not a sign of a single body. The city had become a ghost town. Deserted ruins in the middle of the wilderness.

The massive amounts of vines and other plants that had taken over the city showed me that quite a lot of time had passed since the city had fallen, but the exact amount of time would remain a mystery for the time being.

As I examined the rubble around me I could feel a presence that had become increasingly familiar over the last 6 years coming towards me at a high speed. I looked up towards the sky to see a massive bone dragon diving towards me. It's body was around half the size of the bone dragon back in the tower, but it was still large enough to cause considerable damage to me and the area around me.

I closed my eyes and braced myself for impact, activating arcane body focusing on my constitution. The impact I expected never came. Instead I could hear a slightly creepy laughter from in front of me. When I opened my eyes I could see Lucifer grinning. He was the same size as he normally was, which is to say roughly the size of a cat.

His eyes glistened as he stared at me. "Haha I scared you!!"

I could only shake my head at him. He was still a kid, despite all of his knowledge and abilities.

"How did you do that?"

He had a smug look as he responded. "It's my legendary skill! it's called [Size Adjustment]. With it I can temporarily reach adult size, but it has a huge mana cost, 1% of my total mana per second."

I nodded, a skill such as that would certainly have a high mana cost.

Because he was my familiar I could look at his status at any time I wanted, what I saw was rather shocking.
