I close my screen, and pay attention to the watering hole, a small herd of deer were grazing the grass. Ahh how peaceful ...

I squat down and admire my spiral tattoo. I close my eyes and activate it.

Best decision I ever made... I love it!

I activate Hidden Breath, Concealing Aura, and Silent Steps and continue to watch the deer.

A mother doe just gave birth to a fawn and was teaching it to walk, weakly nudging him with her nose. The curious little fawn gets up and tumbles a few times before getting the hang of it.

He joyfully prances around his mother while she rests on the grass tired from childbirth. She nuzzles her face against him every few seconds to reassure him.

Aww so cute!

An injured stag suddenly gallops through the bushes, yipping at the herd of females and the atmosphere around the watering hole becomes chaotic.

The herd of doe's call for their young and take off running. The mother who just gave birth yelps to the injured stag pushing her new born towards it.

The young calf confused and scared shakes and refuses to leave its mother. The injured stag looks behind him and takes off running with the rest of the herd, abandoning the mother and her child.

A huge Devourwolf trots towards the waterhole, licking his snout hungrily.

Splotches of blood dye the silver fur near his snout, he howls and his black spiritual aura expands around him.

Any spirit beast that hunts with hues of black spirit energy around them, consumes the negative type of spiritual energy; getting one step closer to becoming a host for the demon race.

These spirit beast are called Devourwolfs because they hunt to consume negative energy, not for hunger.. but they feed off the terror and fear of other animals in order to boost their spirit level.

Their pups are black and devour whatever leftovers their parents bring back, while the adolescents are light grey and like to chase and tear at their prey before consuming the negative energy... and the adult spirit wolves are silver and feed only on newborns, devouring their fear and pure spirit energy.

Shit ...I have to act fast and find the rest of his pack in order to save the deer.

I jump to a lower branch balancing lightly on the tips of my toes ready to pounce. I scan the area carefully and sense two other wolves.

I spot a small grey wolf hiding in the bushes waiting for the Alphas command.

I leap onto a tree behind it and ..curl my whip around its neck like a noose and yank him backwards. I jump to higher branches of the tree pulling the wolf with me breaking its neck in the process.

I gently sway his body back to the ground and retract my whip. I toss the wolf into my Mindscape and scan the area looking for the other wolf.

The big silver wolf howls again, and I hear crushed leaves a few yards to the west.

I wrap my whip around my shoulder and leap down grabbing a big rock. I climb back up into a tree and run across branches till I find another wolf crouched down watching it's Alpha taunt the mother doe getting closer to her and her fawn.

I grab my whip and weave it around the small grey wolfs snout like a muzzle and jump off the branch smashing the rock down crushing the wolf's head and toss him into my Mindscape.

The silver wolf growls at the mother and child deer and they tremble with fear. It pounces towards the fawn and the mother doe kicks her child into the waterhole yelping in hopes it runs away.

The silver wolf bites the doe's hind leg and it breaks under the pressure.. and drags her along with him while he walks towards the water.

My heartbeats falters... damn it I thought I could kill the other wolves and take down the big one before it attacked the deer.

I jump off the tree and run towards the wolf I strike deeply into his eyes with the serrated edge of the whip blinding it. I run into the water and snatch the baby fawn tossing it into my Mindscape.

The Devourwolf howls in pain and released the doe. It sniffs around on edge from my attack and howls for reinforcements. He steps on the mother doe and she yelps.

I grab a few pebbles and toss one to towards his left shoulder and cast my whip wrapping it around his right leg letting the serrated edge slice his tendon while I yank it forward dislocating it, he snarls and bites at the air unable to catch me.

I quickly run behind him tossing a pebble to his right shoulder and he retreats slowly while I capture his hind leg and dislocate it with the whip, he howls in panic for his pack again releasing dark spirit energy.

My heart races and I silently pray for the mother doe to survive. The black spirit energy swirls around killing the grass it touches and knocks out the doe but no other wolves appear. The wolf realizes his allies are gone and quickly abandons the doe and limps to the side.

I leave him no room to retreat and repeat the process taking out his remaining legs till he sprawled on the ground whimpering in pain covered in blood.

I ignore it and check on the doe, her body was covered in a thick layer of dark spirit energy and no longer breathing. I carry her to the watering hole and secretly try to use my healing spirit energy. It absorbs the dark spirit energy and dissolves, but the doe's doesn't show any signs of life. I carry her to the spot I first saw her and her fawn and bury her.

While digging think of my mother ...and feel a whole new appreciation. It's just instinct to protect the young, even at the cost of our own lives.

I place the doe in gently and cover her up silently praying for her soul. I'm sorry I wasn't quick enough, I will care of your child and make sure he lives well and I leave with that promise.

I head back towards the Devourwolf and he's passes out from blood loss, I grab ahold of his snout and the back of his head and twist snapping his neck, tossing him into my Mindscape.

I walk back to Shen who's been lurking in the shadows watching my hunt. He picks up on my mood and holds my hand while we walk back to the edge of the cliff.
