"Shinah what's got into you. The grass? Really? Your so talkative today! By the way why do you call Jing Xuan Flowery Big Brother?" She looks up at me as I climb onto my guards arm and look at her over his shoulder.
"What the grass is better there, with all those flowery boys so handsome! Hmph." She laughs harder at my response and my guard pulls me off his shoulder placing me down on the ground.
"Your highness it's be best if you stay away from those flowery types of boys ..no all types understand?!" He gives me a stern look clouded with worry.
"Mm okay Emel." I give him my best salute and pull Lan'er with me towards the kitchen. "Emel tell mother I'll meet her for tea, we're getting snacks!"
"Come on Lan'er let's get something yummy!" We run into the kitchen and close the door. "Where's Auntie Yue at? Her cakes are the best! Let's look up there Lan'er."
I pull Lan'er to the table. "Give me a boost hurry." Lan helps me up the counter and I see a tray of goodies and prepared tea. I grab a cloth shoveling all kinds of colorful snacks into it. I exchange them for some plain looking ones and hop down.
"There were all set." I dust my hands off and we're about to run out when the door opens. "Shh." I put my finger on my mouth and we crawl under the table by the door. The last time we got caught stuffing ourselves I wasn't allowed to eat cake for a whole week.
Needless to say I was not about to make that mistake again!
Footsteps stop at the table we just ransacked in front of us and I put my hand over Lan's mouth to keep from getting caught.
I don't hear anything for a while so decided to peek out. I see the servants side as he holds a box in his hand chanting. The more he chants the dimmer the box in his hand gets, then he pulls out an elixir and pours it into the tea cup before placing the bottle back into ....a familiar lotus shaped box, only this time it didn't have that shiny look like before. After he chants again the box is restored to its shiny look again. What was he doing with Flowery Big Brothers box.
What did he add to the tea?
And who was it for?
I lean back under the table and hold Lan'ers hand while we wait for him to leave.
"Let's go?" Lan whispers to me. I shake my head and hold out my hand for her to wait till he's gone.
Why does someone want to poison anyone here. Who's here that's worth poisoning .. the guest have left and the only person I can think of is my mother.
Uncles out with Daddy and Auntie has no enemies I can think of. So all that's left is my mom, but she was never poisoned as far as I can remember. Wait. Aunt died from being poisoned but it was years ago from now.
Has time changed? Isn't this just a memory recording I'm supposed to relive? That doesn't make sense because I never met my Lan'ers friends in my past life. Are things different in this life? Can things be changed? Come to think of it I never met Flowery Big Brother. Is he trying to hurt my Mom? Or Aunt? Is Flowery Big Brother bad? No matter what harming my family is an unforgivable act.
If he is I won't let him off! No I can't assume I need to see who that teas going to and stop them from drinking it.
I feel anxious so we wait few minutes under the table after the servant leaves.
After a few minutes a new servant comes in and reorganizes the pastry's and takes the already made tray out. I pull Lan up and we follow the server ... towards my Mother and Aunt.
Halfway down the hall I feel myself lose my footing but before I eat the floor I'm tucked into someone's arms. "Your highness shouldn't run in the halls, it's dangerous." He sets me on the ground. I look calmly at the man exuding a dangerous aura in front of me. Duke Lin.
He was the one my Uncle suspected who poisoned my Aunt in my past life. He hated that my Uncle had married Long Fei the woman he loved. He acted like a good friend at the time she was found out to be poisoned and said he'd go to Spirit Beast Kingdom that had the antidote, but only if my Uncle got the King to agreed to a treaty with another kingdom in a different country... unfortunately while on his way there my Aunt Fei passed away. When he was sent the news he rushed back halfway through the journey bringing the antidote he had along the whole time but it was too late.
"Yes very dangerous, I'll be sure to let the halls know to avoid me while I run next time. Thank you Duke Lin." I curtsy and pull Lan into the room my mother and aunt were chatting happily in.

Woah can anyone else see this?
A translucent square shield pops up in front of me. I stop my steps and I wave out my hand out to touch it feeling silly. Three rectangular columns pop up in weird characters..I touch the last column on accident and I hear that strange voice again.

[Poisoned Tea : Don't let anyone drink the poisoned tea, be discreet.]
How the hell am I supposed to do that, I was just going tell my mother not to drink it before this shield popped up.

This bastard! What now?
The translucent shield popped up this time with only two columns with weird characters. I squint looking at both columns carfully. I think it's written in English. Wait how do I know that? What's English and why's it written so weirdly?
Whatever maybe it's a hint to help me. I press view message.
[(Crying Face) Help me! I'm trapped in here ..Mother!]

I guess I'll just ignore that hint.
