Chapter 3 - Journey Time... Not Quite

Being in the zone and the journey is what counts. Drawing can make you feel safe. Drawing can help you clear your mind, body, and soul. It helps with anxiety, stress, and much more. When I first started drawing I was not good at all. Did I give up? No, no I did not. Everyone is going to have to go through the exact same steps of growth no matter what your drawing style is.

I knew I needed to start drawing in order to clear my mind of the hate and reality of the world. The world we live on, the rock we are standing on, is and can be an evil evil place. There's plenty of hate out there which isn't good. It's always good to have something that you love and you wanna grow off too hold your hand. This is something that is going to push you to be your best and make you want to keep on growing. It's going to make you want to keep growing because that is how drawing is.

You can express yourself in any way that you want.

You may tell yourself your bad at something but it's always bad at first. I can tell you that truthfully.

Once you tell yourself your bad, don't listen to it. You will be bad at first, yes but you will get there. I can promise you that you will get there and be the best that you can be. Your gonna want to take your time and put your motivation into it.

There are many different styles out there. You can doodle, you can draw people, or you can even develop your own style.

How do you develop your own style you may be asking. It's as simple as one word. Time. If you give yourself the time and the correct place to draw you will start developing your own style. If you wanna draw people, maybe you will change up the eyes and make them more of an oval shape. Or if you wanna draw cars, maybe when you shade or ink it you'll add some crosshatching or shadow lines that people normally wouldn't put there. A good place to find inspiration into developing your own style is too look at the things you like.

Go on Instagram and look at pictures of landscapes, people, cartoon characters. Go on YouTube and follow tutorials or watch other artists make work. Drawing is something that is all up to you. You can change it in anyway that you want because it's made with your hands and your mind.
