Arnos shook and turned, flipping his hair every where. "GASP! Pant, pant." "This nightmare... Why does it keep happening?"
Arnos POV
Is my brother really alive? No impossible they told me he died. Why would they lie? I climbed out of my bag and stood up. I zipped open the zipper and walked out. Breathe in and out, in and out.
Arnos sat outside for awhile. The brother who the Mage council told was dead, kept coming back to him in his dreams.
Flash Back:
"Brother I am alive! They lied, please save me from their dungeons. I was too powerful they think of me as a-
His voice cuts off and I hear screaming yelling and then I wake up.
Sweat dropped from his fore head. He decided to go back and sleep.
The night went by like nothing happened.
"WAKE UP!" Master Romeus commands.
Dash! He jumps out as quick as he could and stands up straight.
"I told you to wake up early. Go get changed, then we will leave. Now."
"Al-Alright" He mumbles, he went back inside got changed into some spare clothing. Master Romeus packed everything in his void pouch and they went on their way.
Again, Master Romeus was very quick but Arnos tried his very best to keep up. Soon, a cabin came into their view. Some how they managed to arrive at the cabin before dusk.
A small isolated cabin stood in the middle of a opening in the forest. At the front was very flat grounds, great for training. A glistening crystal lake at the back. It looked like the ideal place for a vacation except this wasn't a vacation.
"Wow... It's so pretty! Do you really live here?" Arnos asked with a slight confusion.
"Yes. Yes I do Arnos, now go put your stuff away. Walk in, turn to the right, past the bathroom and that's your room. Get changed into something comfortable. I'll tell you the details on your training at the dinner table."
"Alright."
Master Romeus unlocked the door and Arnos walked in. The home looked nice and cozy. A great living room, he followed the directions that he was told and arrived at his room. It was a quite nice room. It was a bit bigger than the inn dorm he had. It also looked a lot nicer. It was very welcoming. Arnos sat down his stuff and changed into something suitable for dinner but comfortable.
The cabin was quite big and Arnos had trouble finding the dinner table. After what seemed like forever he found the room. It was a simple table with a kitchen but it looked so nice. Back at the inn, there was never a kitchen or a table to eat so it looked new to Arnos. Master Romeus was already sitting down with a bunch of food in front of him.
"You finally arrived. Took you long enough, let's eat."
The food looked great, there was a pot of what seemed like beef stew. Some vegetables with chicken. Some toasted bread? Arnos guessed and some steak. There was also drinks to down it all down. Arnos decided to drink some orange juice. (There was also wine and water but he's too young for wine and water seemed it bit plain to him.)
"What are you staring at? Eat."
"O-oh right, sorry." Arnos replies dazed.
As they ate Master Romeus told him about the training. He would sleep at 9:30pm at latest. Wake up at 5:00am just before sun rise. Drink some water and eat a bar or nibble on a snack. Then he would run around the house, 25 laps but the laps will get longer and longer. Later he'll go back inside, eat breakfast and have a 1 hour break. Afterwards the training will start outside all the way to 12:30pm. That will also be when they have lunch. Then they might go hunting for some food or doing some chores. Dinner is exactly at 7:00pm sharp. Late and no food for you, too bad.
"Twenty-fi-five laps?!" He said in disbelief.
Master Romeus looked at him with a strange look and said. "Yeah. Twenty five laps, it's not a lot you'll be finished soon enough. It'll help with your stamina. To make sure you don't slack, if you don't finish in under 25 minutes. Another 25 laps, so don't SLACK."
They continued eating and eventually Arnos became full.
"Well, thanks for the food. I'm going to go take a shower now.-" He suddenly got yanked back, he turned around to see Master Romeus with his hand on his collar.
"Now, where do you think you're going? You are going to wash the dishes. Your first chore it's simple, then you can shower and go to sleep."
'SIMPLE!!!? Are you serious, you use like flippin 15 plates for ONE STEW!!!!' Arnos screamed in his mind but he knew better than to disobey.
I grabbed the dishes and started stacking them. There was A LOT and I mean it. Master Romeus sure eats a lot. I started scrubbing them one by one and rinsing them off. By the time I had finished, it was about 7:00pm. Looks like we had dinner earlier today. I got time to get all my stuff sorted!
Arnos went to his room and dumped all his stuff down. "Oops, I didn't think that through..." He got all his clothes and folded them nicely and put them in his drawers. His coats and jackets were neatly hung in the closet. He then remembered his ring. It was a beautiful green ring. No jeweler could tell what stone or jewel it was. It was the only thing he had since he was abandoned. It looked very pretty like a mix between emerald and jade, with a silver lining. He stored it safely away and went to shower.
After showering Arnos got changed and lied in his bed. What a day had it been. Nothing much had happened but he felt much closer to his Master. He seemed like a father figure to him which he never had. Arnos checked the time on a nearby clock. '7:20pm, it's so early but I'm kinda tired after all that walking. Plus tomorrow I need to wake up early. Whatever I think I'll just slightly close my eyes. Arnos's body was quite weary and he immediately feel asleep.
