Levon covers himself with his bronze shield from every angle, preparing to take a possible sneaky attack from his opponent. Kewa charges head on! With his lightning quick jump, he covers the whole distance between him and Graham in a second!
From such short distance, his arrows have even more destructive ability, the shields quickly cracked and shattered, yet Levon instantly reacts and does a double kick from the left side that landed successfully on Kewa's armor, throwing him some meters away!
'Time for me to be on the offense!" He launches a barrage of gun shots at his opponent.
"Bronze shield, activate!" Kewa yells!
The smoke resulting from the explosion covered him, which is quite what Levon didn't want. 'Damn it, he can surprise me with one of his quick jumps. Luckily, It can only come from in front." Levon keeps his shields activated.
Kewa does the expected and emerges from the smoke, however, he this time didn't use his weapon, he went straight with the fist!
His plan was to break Levon's shiel first, and then with his astonishing hand speed, shoot an arrow right in his grill!
A pretty smart strategy, but Levon had already outsmarted him...
At the very last second, Levon deactivates his shield, leaving Kewa to punch thin air! Levon appears holding the gun right towards his opponent's head.
*HEAD SHOT*
Levon did not hesitate to fire right at Kewa's skull!!
He drops immediately to the ground, with a quarter of his head all destroyed and messed up, blood is flooding, the white void made it much redder than it actually is.
Graham's eyes looked down, wide open, shocked!
'...This is too realistic, it's just as If I killed him for real! I... I have a very strange and uneasy feeling.' Levon contemplates his first kill!
In actuality, Kewa was not a 2star player trying to pull tricks on Levon, the way he acts and talks is his actual real personality!
His powers were just very unusual, though they have a very high ceiling! But, due to his lack of experience, coupled with his passive behavior, he hasn't capitalized it yet.
Now, he has one life to do so...
To interrupt his shocked contemplation, the watch displays the result.
· Congratulations, you have defeated your opponent successfully.
· Experience gained: +5%
· Truth gained: 0%
· Level: 1 star (85%)
· New historical challenge unlocked
· Opponent's arsenal: acquired!
"I won..." was all Levon said.
Kardia starts disintegrating and twisting, it's time to be teleported back to the labyrinth!
Put back on his feet, he finds Kewa standing in front of him as if his corpse wasn't laying down just moments ago in front of him.
"Oh... I'm alive again! Hahahhahaha Phew, that was so scary. It all happened so fast, you really surprised me with your smart attack." He says, so nicely.
Levon remains silent, and just looks at Kewa... though he cannot formulate his feelings even internally, he could tell that he wasn't actually bothered or angered by Kewa's tone this time around. Rather, it was the opposite!
Kewa. "Man, you're weird! You won and you're still the same!
Anyways, I'll get going, I should train more so I avoid being expelled from this game so early. See you again, Mr. Levon! Maybe we'll have a rematch one day."
Nonchalantly, he turned his back and started walking away while talking to himself... "Man, imagine if I died for real... at least, it happened so suddenly I didn't feel any pain hahahaha..."
"Kewa!" Levon yells.
The latter stops and looks back.
Levon. "Don't rush without having at least two plans in head."
Kewa smiles, and gives Levon a thumbs up, then continued walking away...
Few seconds later, Graham takes another look at his watch. It's time to investigate his bounty!
"Hmmm... Now I understand. His quick jump and hand movement were actually abilities he acquired from a challenge!
Ironic, it's even called "sneaky jump" and "quick hand".
These would be quite helpful in my case as well, my shooting and agility will become faster!
I've read in the rules that such abilities do not get stolen, but replicated. That's actually good, It didn't set well with me to leave him without any...
Anyways, 85% ... one more duel or challenge and I'll probably be a 2star player!
After a win, I'm confident about taking another duel even right now... Should I do that?
Probably not, my health isn't on 100% yet, It would be better to take a challenge, for some reason they seem less dangerous than duels."
Levon starts walking, while simultaneously checking his list of challenges as well as Apero's map. Suddenly, he recalls something!
"Oh yeah! I almost forgot again.
Thanks to him, I was reminded to finish reading the rules... I stopped at rule number 10 last time."
Levon sits down, lights his eyes like little lamps, and starts reading in the dark thin roads of Aedificium.
· Rule N° 11: after a year of play, a ranking of the top 100 players in the game is announced.
Levon is quite surprised. "One year! I knew this would take some time...But that has surpassed my expectations! I wonder if a year here equals one in the real world... That's one thing I must inquire about, I know who can answer that question for me..."
· Rule N° 12: As a cultivator, you are one of 3 modes capable of forming a team of up to 10 players from all 10 realms.
Another surprising rule, Levon was oblivious that there would be such concept in the game. "...I thought this is an individual game, how would forming a team be beneficial? Truth can only be obtained by one player as I read before!
Now I'm starting to be confused... The first 10 rules were quite expected, these... not so much!"
As he had no way to find out now, he decides to continue reading...
· Rule N° 13: There are 5 levels of achievements players can achieve:
1st degree achievement takes a player to the historical setting without providing any instructions
2nd degree achievement takes a player to the historical setting with specific equipment
3rd degree achievement takes a player to the historical setting with both instructions and equipment
4th degree achievement takes a player to the historical setting half solved
5th degree achievement directly hands the player 100% of the historical event's truth.
"Right, There are 2 types of challenges, Quest & Historical.
The last one I failed was of the historical type, I was given no instructions or equipment, which means I haven't yet acquired anything above a 1st degree achievement.
I am assuming that the higher the achievement, the higher the percentage of truth you get from its' respective historical challenge, this is to be checked later.
However, this is really interesting, this game just does not stop getting more expanded! Just, how was he able to create all of this, what type of genius Dr. X really was?
In the words of Dr. Howard, I "hope" I find him somewhere... in his world.
Let's continue, surely the next rule will be even more astonishing with the way this is going...
· Rule N°14: The loss of 2 lives means the certain death of a player both in the game and reality.
