Chapter 6 - Reality Slap

"Well your highness, let's get you ready as I drill in some information." Rutley said as he rolled up his sleeves. "Okay but I think we should start with your background Rutley. I still have no clue who you are." Taki said causing Rutley's knees to buckle. He fell down to the floor and started to cry. "Rutley?" Taki called out sweetly. "CALDER HOW COULD YOU?!" Rutley cried out as he banged his fist against the floor.

.....

"I'm Calder now." Taki thought as he looked at himself in the full length mirror. He didn't want to believe what he was experiencing but Rutley slapped him with so much information that he couldn't help but face the truth. However Taki had a weird sense of deja vu.

"I'm not Taki, I'm Calder, Cal-der, C-a-l-der, Cal-I can't! I don't want to be anyone but Taki!" Taki cried internally as he looked at a poker faced Calder. "How the hell can someone keep a straight face?" Taki asked himself. He looked over his face closely. He was quite attractive but his face was too fierce looking. It made him want to shed tears of blood.

Taki tried making faces in the mirror to see if he could make it more gentler but they all looked scarier then the next. Silly, thoughtful, puppy dog, happy, sad and the worst was his angry face.

Taki covered his eyes and hoped that his face would be normal. It was too much and he wished that the mirror would have been nice enough to at least censored his reflection. When he looked up he was seeing his poker face again. "From baby face to serial killer." He said pitifully.

He stared at himself for a while longer, really concentrated but nothing changed. "Not even my imaginary support system is in place." He sighed. "Sure we are." A deep voice said. Taki looked up and paled. His imagination was too good. It must have been from all that reading. Now sitting on his shoulders were chibi versions of Calder and they were not suited for their roles.

The angel looked wrong while the devil looked like a thug. "Nope need a wardrobe change." Taki said as he closed his eyes. He opened them again and felt better. His chibis were now wearing the same beautiful, royal military uniform he was wearing but the angel was wearing a white version, the devil was wearing a red version and Taki was wearing a black version.

They all wore the same golden coloured shoulder pads, tassels and chains. A pair of Royal blue and gold, twin sashes laid across their torsos and three medals were hung on their left breast.

"You have a new life Taki." The pure Calder said as he stood on Taki's right shoulder. "So new that you have to stop thinking of yourself as Taki. Good for you man, Taki was the runt of the litter. Now look at you! Who will ever think badly of you now!" The evil Calder said as he arrogantly sat on Taki's left shoulder.

"But I don't want to forget Taki." Tak-Calder said feebly. "Well Ta-Calder, I don't think the real Calder wanted to be replaced either. You must honour his memory and live his life accordingly." The pure Calder said as he crossed his arms over his chest and nodded his head. "Look at the bright side Calder." Evil Calder said as he grinned. "What could that be?" Calder asked. "What lady will dare mess with you now?" Evil Calder replied.

"How can you even dare think that Calder can have his way with women?!" Pure Calder shouted in disbelief. "Who said he would have his way?! I was just stating that his face would scare any person straight!" Evil Calder protested. Pure Calder turned beat red. "You know what I was trying to say!" Pure Calder pouted as he looked away, face still glowing red. "No I don't." Evil Calder smirked.

"ENOUGH!" Calder shouted. "It doesn't matter. Calder was bad with women just like how I was. According to Rutley I didn't even show an interest in women just my fighting skills." Calder said pathetically. "Bent?" Evil Calder asked as he looked at Calder. "No, didn't even show an interest in men either." Calder sighed. "See I thought Rutley might have been your secret lover." Pure Calder said.

Both Calder and evil Calder looked at pure Calder in surprise. "Oh don't give me that look! Both of you thought the same thing! I just voiced it. Besides we are both you Calder so don't act surprised! You thought it first." Pure Calder said bitterly. "Right." Calder said as he looked back at the mirror. "So why do I have this weird sense that I lived this life before?" Calder asked his reflection.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door. The chibi Calders instantly disappeared and Calder sighed. "Your highness, I'm coming in." Rutley said cautiously as he slowly opened the door. Rutley looked at Calder and his lower lip started to tremble as tears streamed down his cheeks. "Your highness you kept your clothes on!" Rutley cried.

Calder looked confused but Rutley didn't care anymore. "Sir Buffer was right you had an epiphany!" Rutley cried out in joy. "Um Rutley, I know your my personal attendant but aren't you being a little dramatic?" Calder asked. "NO I'M NOT!" Rutley shouted. "You used to tear your fancy clothes to shreds the moment I took my eyes off you! I have four back ups here and I don't need them!" Rutley cried harder.

"I'm sorry Rutley." Calder said quickly. "Even common sense has been slapped in to you. Calder, my dear friend you've been reborn as a human being! Maybe now you'll even find yourself a good wife and have babies, even smile all the time! I can finally rest in peace!" Rutley hollered making Calder feel guilty.

"Sorry about everything." Calder said internally, too afraid to say it directly to Rutley. He didn't want the man to die from dehydration because of his crying.
