Chapter 205 - 151 - return part 2

.

"[Survivor's melancholy-type 3]"(?)

"Gah?! Leave me alone!" (Lilith) Her face contorted in fear, fear of the unknown- individual's power. It seemed escape was not possible. When every route of retreat has been trashed and obliterated, fighting becomes inevitable. A way to circumvent a conceptual skills-there is none currently at her disposal. Lilith simply did not have anything left in her arsenal, at least nothing on such an absurdly high level.

"I am Iyori Erika, the concept of Humanity's survival. It is because I exist that threats like you are nothing in the face of our species, only a higher power like the [Demon lord] could match my strength. (Iyori)

" I see, so I have the strength to threaten humanity. And you are the final bastion, an unsurmountable wall preventing my goals from reaching fruition. I have already decided. I shall wipe everyone out, so no one can hurt Cress ever again." (Lilith)

Teleporting with [Shadow step-tier 4], storms of individual threads reached the ground. Showering the vicinity with chaos and destruction. The threads had aimed at Erika, however her barrier was able to block all of it without fail. Yes, blocked-something utterly impossible with high level attacks. After reaching a certain point, strength becomes irrelevant and ability is reduced to sustainability. Whoever can endure the strain and attack, defend, counter attack, dodge, block, parry for a longer period of time, wins.

Firing ultra dense [demonic energy] from all directions, they were thousands of times more dense and compressed than the first time they materialised in the orphanage. The leftovers, the excess [demonic energy] manipulated to form armour. What meagre excess was formed, was compressed further and hardened with magic into a covering akin to plate armour. Without any thought put into mind, the armour parts naturally fell apart and formed unique armaments of odd shapes.

The waist plates have long stakes that reach far behind, built in the shape of spreading wings, or webbed bones. The legs were covered with more normal looking armour that resembled the shiny metal worn by knights at the border. Thickest in the front of the legs, leading to a sharp end at the knee. The material on the back or underside of the knee was a transparent black, similar to stockings.

The shoes fit the shape of the legs and ended in points, a simple design that left the least amount of weight so the legs do not get burdened. Gauntlets molded to the shape of her arms grind up in response, releasing a deep humming like sound at the end of the elbow. Ominous orbs floated there, at the back of the gauntlet that has numerous pointed appendages. As the head was the most sensitive, it was protected by the thinnest film, invisible to the naked eye. Allowing for breathing room and air to enter, but not anything larger like the opponent's fist.

Shifting all her weight into her left leg, a crater instantly forms-after she jumps. Her speed leaving sound and light in the dust, also left craters that were created late. Although at that speed, such things like battlefield conditions were irrelevant. Water and any space could be threaded on, as long as there was a ground at the start, a phenomenon resembling flight could be recreated.

Launching off with all her body mass, she swung her fist in an instant. Meeting the barrier head on with her knuckles and blood.

"[Human preservation]." (Iyori)

A secondary large mint green transparent barrier layed out over Lilith's back, containing the shockwaves generated from her fist to barrier collisions. This way, she couldn't even damage the city indirectly. Being in an enclosed space also prevents the use of [demonic energy], it was basically suicide, throwing a grenade into a small room with yourself in it. She could probably formed a secondary barrier to block it, however she knew. It was meaningless before this ruthless enemy.

"Huh?! Who the hell said you can give up!!!" (?) A strangely familiar voice swept the atmosphere from the back, containing a pitch and mannerism oozing with dignity. Her aura had always outshined those around her with ease, granting her citizens mentality with peace and security. She had always been the best in whatever setting ever since she was born, until she met one person.

"YOU... WHY ARE YOU GIVING UP AGAIN?!" (Fez) Fear. Fear had filled her expression. To the oblivious Lilith, she couldn't understand her expression. Why is she so frustrated? What is the Queen doing here? Unless...?

"It must hurt huh? To see someone you love get taken away." (Lilith) She could guess that someone got caught in the crossfire. As if it matters at all. She knew. Way from the start, there would be no point to taking Cress's memories. They were simply destroyed out of convenience, for her to have basically witnessed the destruction of the colosseum. It was inevitable, some strange plot would one day affect Lilith and or her close friends. What then? What then, if she couldn't save a single person, let alone herself?

She would drown in self destruction, of humanity, and of herself.

".... Fez... She's not the same as the one we know... This one is just a weak messenger of [chaos], she's no where close to the one we knew and love." (Iyori) Her eyes displayed the melancholy filling her heart, at having lost the chance to save a friend. From the conversation, they were having a similar episode to me and Cress, only that I was on the other end.

Though, I've already long discarded my previous identity to preserve this peaceful life. I should be prepared... To throw everything away. Holding up a symbolic finger to my temple, I forcefully shut down my resistances and let the plowing through of the bullets, scramble the contents of my skull.... - Except... even that was blocked by Iyori. A pale green transparent film carefully wrapped around my skin. It was similar to the [demonic energy] armour covering my head earlier, only that this barrier was finally able to cover me now that my armour was gone.

"What kind of.... What kind of guardian of humanity can't even save a single girl or let her kill herself..." An expression of disbelief, eyes widened and brows furrowed in frustration. However no more energy was left, and no more will to resist. An invisible mood of depression covered the once beautiful battle field. There were still 3 beauties, however all had gloomy faces.

".... I can restore the buildings. I'll leave the organisation members dead, but can you promise not to attempt this again? Going after mankind and all. "(Iyori)

"Are you kidd-... This... This isn't how it's suppose to- " (Lilith) At a lost for words, she couldn't even express her displeasure.

"Do something... Please..." (Fez)

"You... You've regained- " (Iyori)

Black space consumed the vicinity, before a door closed up, crushing the contents, Iyori. The door had intricate engravings decorated with gold and precious jewels lining the frame and the centre design of the door. Spikes grown from the door's material extended and grew out in random directions, before a booming sound echoed from beyond the door. Smoke flew out, giving a hint to what had occurred inside.

"... [Witch's coffin]. This would only hold her back for a few seconds. You... I-... Do what you need to do." (Fez)
