Chapter 182 - 128 - Life

The energy spreaded throughout the room, already leaking with instability and venting out chaos on Kuraver's body. The [Demonic energy] still attempted to stabilise, bring the damage to a bare minimum.

The heat permeated throughout my body, the only reason it isn't breaking down was that [demonic energy] had also enhanced my body enough to withstand it. Oxygen was almost out. I gave one last attempt to negotiate.

"You... Ugh... You fool... I'm not the murderer. Why are you doing this..."

"Through this encounter, I have broken past my mental limits and have begun to physically grow. It is far too late to reason. I've seen what you were capable of and have deemed you a threat to society. In order to protect my students, I have released the shackle of the flesh. Once battle is over and I relax, my Will will literally dissipate and my soul collapse to fade.

I have already stopped having a need to absorb oxygen. You are merely substituting it with pure instinct. If you relax you will die. So to keep you on your toes, I propose this. A final battle. I don't have much time anyway, I will put all my Will into this. "(Kuraver)

" Sensei... Well then... That's fine. No one has pushed me this far before. This is a power discovered from instinct and developed by willpower.. [Demonic energy]... armour! "

A dark silk like stream of material wraps itself around my muscles. It's rather embarrassing to have my developing silhouette highlighted at such a time, unfortunate as it is, this was the first time I've used this power. Pushing [Demonic energy] to the limits, the most compressed form that I could produce was wrapped around my body and used as armour. Naturally a transparent form was wrapped around every inch on the openings, including my hands, legs, face and every strand of hair. My hair tie had long evaporated, my ponytail spreading freely into my shoulders.

The inspiration to this power was the state of the room being how it's filled with unstable energy right now. The usual response was to create a barrier strong enough to withstand the explosion. However this time the [demonic energy] in the air has been so condensed that no barrier could withstand it. In order to do so, it had to reach further towards the limit, a theoretical limit of the capabilities of [Demonic energy], controlled merely by will power.

If I release my grip, it would become deadlier than the [Demonic energy] already filling the air. Though both would take my life, so it didn't actually matter. In fact it may take Sensei's life as well. That is just but one possibility, I have to make sure he's dead or I will never be released from this sub-dimension.

Now that I had gained enough protection, I didn't even have to prepare an attack. My main form of offense, the [Demonic energy] was already densely populating the air in this sub-dimension the size of a classroom. Maybe he had wished to be some kind of hero, though now he will meet his tragic end away from the eyes of his students.

"I'm sorry sensei. But I will make it quick."

"Try it."(Kuraver)

*Brrrrrrttt*

A deep sound with frequency so high, the small dimension shook. It shook space itself, but could not tear through it. Either that I would have escaped, or the explosion escapes as well and drowns the academy in a sea of fire.

The armour had worked splendidly well, though the sound went through and collapsed my ear drums in an instant. Blood was leaking through and dripping down my neck, but it didn't bother. Under this armour was immense pressure as if I was carrying the whole school, however I could somehow still move. It was painful, yet it functioned.

Standing in a different position was Kuraver. He had a smirk on his face, the explosion not damaging a bit from when he was standing still already told me everything I needed to know. He was so fast, he walked through the shock waves and dodge all the damage. My main form of attack that the enemy had let me prepare was splendidly avoided to the point it became obsolete.

This armour... Even if I detonate myself... He would not go down for a while... He says he is putting all his will into this fight, therefore burning through his lifespan, however he looks to be conserving it.

Speaking slowly as if he knew the magnitude of how shock I was, I could easily mouth out his words despite being deaf.

"How weak." (Kuraver)

Of course. Right now he is more than 40 000 times faster than I am. Someone who surpassed the speed of light... How can I beat him?

.... There is not even an exit to break through... Another perfect show of mastery over his skill. Everyone has an innate fear of confinement even if so little that the person themselves don't notice, only a person with enough confidence could create this room without an exit.

My only offensive skill has been denied, my other skills rendered useless by his. I have... Nothing left... I see. This must be how my life will be taken. By another person at death's door...

"I see, you have nothing left. I didn't know you were as empty as me. A simple skill disable on my [absolute territory] would have made me useless. Rather it seems we are both one trick ponies. My trick defeated yours, that is all there is to it. " (Kuraver)

" Ah, I see so this is my end"

I really went all out. If that much firepower was anticlimatically mitigated by Agility, I can only accept it and say that I tried my best. I wonder if I'll be able to meet Father and mother now...

Wielding a melancholic smile, Lilith finally retires. Her knees lose stability and she collapses into a siting position. Her eyes closed and her smile exerted it's presence on her little face even beneath her small nose. Black hair flowing through the wind. The armour simply turned into magic particles and faded out of existence instead of proceeding into a chain of explosions. As if fate itself couldn't let her die just yet.

Ending it early... It is surely a waste... , however nobody can deny her acceptance,

...That she had enough fun and that this was simply the end of this journey, a journey that boasted danger from the very start.

Waiting for the final hit to take her life, a strange new voice sparkles around exuding pressure into her conscious. The voice was strangely soothing as if the an angel was the one to deliver her from death.

"y...nd...p"(?)

"ly...nd...p!!"(?)

"ily...and ...p!!!!!!!"(?)

"E...ily...Stand ...Up!"(?)

"Emily von Lilith... Stand... UPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" (?)

"E... mi.. ly?"

Opening my eyes, a lone grey, no... Silver haired girl was standing in front of me. Her shining hair flowing was akin to if the moon became a stream instead of a circle. In fact her presence exuded an atmosphere of dignity akin to the queen's, however her cute facial features and her bewitching eyes meshed together to form a more compounded and refined impression. It was an exaggeration to call her the embodiment of elegance, however she was capable enough to be awarded with that title.

Akin to a brand new shining Ray of light, yet she contained enough familiarity to emanate assurance and confidence. She makes her stance and her message clear with her resolute expression.

'Don't give up. Fight.'
