Several notable individuals that possess a certain degree of skill resided in this class, they gave off auras that expressed their though meagre, but advantageous stature giving experience. Hisa Tsukimi, Diin Ivar, Piure Kenvion exuded this property to say the least.
Though there were quite a few nobles, they usually blend into the crowd. Bright sunlight penetrates through the elegantly framed windows, hitting some students in the eyes. The air was stale, leaving one to be able to hear someonee's breath.
"My name is Lilith, Lilith Emil. I'll be in your care." Saying so, I stood back down into my seat. My black ponytail bouncing in rhythm as my school uniform rustled it's way to wrap around my figure, while I adjusted my seating position. For a couple of seconds, silence engulfed the classroom. None of the students seem used to the environment. Snapping everyone back into reality, Kuraver sensei proceeded to clear his throat loudly.
" Ahem!, next!" (Kuraver)
Murmurs bounced over the classroom walls as they others decide who should go next. Being the 10 year old that they are, it seemed this was too rare an occurrence.
***(whispering)
'Emil... That's... Isn't that the same family name as the student council president...' (Maser)
'Are they somehow related? A plain looking person like her?' (Chizoru)
***
Hearing the voices from a distance, the corners of my lips twitched as I put on a smile and closed eyes.
Not long after, an even scarier and extremely irritated expression arose from the teacher's face, the students quietened down. A resolute student takes the attention of the crowd, their voice practically bouncing off the walls to assert their presence.
"My name is Sakase von Zakwin. The heir to the Wind emperor of the Zakwin household. 10 years ago, irreparable damage was done to the Zakwin lineage by an unknown assailant, however we have recovered our losses in an instant. Even if I am from a branch, I still have enough to match the main family. "(Sakase)
" Alright next. "(Kuraver sensei)
Following up were rather average introductions. Unlike Sakase, the rest, even the other nobles simply wanted to get it over with, rather than awkwardly stand out. Realising his rather extravagant introduction was the lone one to take up so much time, the colour of ripe tomato spreads across his cheeks... Or could it be anger?
As it was the first day, the first 30 minutes were dedicated to getting to know each other's names instead of education of any sort. As those 30 minutes end, the first lesson was about to start. Leading the way, Kuraver sensei activates a strange magical device, the shape of cube with a button on the top. An invisible force assaults the classroom, unnatural weight presses down on the students and objects, causing the objects and chairs to shake. The tables were already fixed to the ground, showing that this was a normal occurrence.
Right after the sound of a miniature explosion resounded, a hole of blackness and dark purple opens by itself in mid air of the classroom entrance. If anyone were to walk into that space as the hole opens, they may get ripped open with their organs flying. Walking through casually, Kuraver has an expression of astonishment as if he had forgotten something.
"Oh right, in order to stabilise the area and not make your belongings fly into unstable space to get lost forever, additional gravity was added to the area around. You'll get used to it one day.[Normal Agility enhancement-tier 1]. This should help you get used to it. " (Kuraver)
With a wave indicating for us to follow, the rest of his being vanishes into the ominous hole in the air. By increasing our Agility, the effects of the extra gravity is reduced considerably. As if nothing happened, I nonchalantly walked through the hole. A feeling as if I was wrapped by liquid swallows my conscious before spitting it back out, as if I had arose from under water. Adjusting my eyes from the darkness of the portal to the sudden light, I observe 4 large concrete walls.
'How did she get used to it right away?!' (Maser)
"Hmph! It seems she is an unnaturally strong one. Her efforts to hide it were futile. The strong simply achieve feats without noticing their own strength. How enviable." (Valern)
Her voice quaked as her fists shook. The pink twintails flew through the air as her expression seemed to be looking into somewhere far away.
The place was large enough to fit 4 of the classrooms. From Kuraver's explanation, we were in the "training grounds" building right behind the classrooms. This building was roughly the same size, but it made use of the gaping middle space of the classroom building to built large rooms made for training purposes. Having walls of concrete seemed excessive for 10 year old, however rare cases could arrive to destroy these very walls. Thus, these walls were also reinforced by magic.
The floor was rough grass, cultivated by the artifical sunlight that lit this room and a sprinkler system to maintain humidity. If destroyed, the magic flooring would repair it by using a [Healing] skill. A quarter of the area was built into a firing range for magic. Too bad I was an assassin, I simply didn't have any affinity for offensive magic other than skills I already have, like [Demonic energy]. Revealing that would be detrimental, keeping a powerful card up my sleeve would be extremely useful if any of the staff or students turn out to be cultist.
So far, I've been careful to kill any enemy that came across this power, information shouldn't be able to reach them so easily. In any case, I cannot be caught off guard even if they were aware of this power.
For the first lesson, we would be taught [mana control]. One of the few "no affinity attached" skills that could even advance higher than tier 3 before we hit the level 600 level cap. Though the gap to tier 4 was extremely massive that people usually waited until level 600 to proceed. The students that have experience with magic would advance faster or even start further head.
Having used [Demonic energy] for a long time, my control has already advanced to tier 3 at the start. Using my disguise catalyst, I editted my status in a hurry. Cold sweat dripped down my temples as I looked up from the ground at the others. With my Agility value boosting my thought process, nobody should be able to see through my changing except for sensei. And I waited until Kuraver was looking at another student. So why are they all staring at me? It would be strange for an assassin to have [mana control-tier 3] at the start, so I changed it to tier 2 right away, determined to explain with my [Stealth] and [Illusion].
"... It's not normal to get it on the first try... Not even those with magic experience would immediately have the right feel for it, before imitating magic spells and advancing tiers..." (Iria)
